Hi all,
Mondays are such a drag and despite doing tons of planning for the week I somehow failed to realize that my onion bread wouldn't be ready til tomorrow morning so no BLT for lunch today :( Tomorrow though! :o
I'm dying for something savory and the Mc-y Ds across the street is taunting me with french fries. And then there's the falafel place around the corner and I could keep going.
So anyway, I guess the cravings have still got me.
Had some coconut water after yoga this morning and then with the leftover meat and another coconut I made a chocolate coconut shake for breakfast.
The Husband was so sweet and brought me down some chia seed pudding so I had some of that and got a pineapple pear and spinach green smoothie from a juice truck near my office.
I just ordered a salad so hoping that allays the savory cravings for now.
We're going to have guac and salsa with the corn chips I made yesterday for dinner. I can't wait but I won't be home til 7 or 7:30 :(
I wish it were still the weekend.

Oops, I've been slipping down the slippery slope but I am back in full swing today.
I walked this morning - it's a lovely comfortable sunny day.
So far today I have had 2 yummy pineapples - blended with some ice into smoothies.:D
I will likely have one more mid to late afternoon and supper will be lots and lots of bananas.:D
Nothing but raw, whole foods today. I'm so happy.:D:D
Good day all! Glad to read it isle.
Day 19, wooo hoooo! I'm feeling very good. I had a great weekend. My internet is still down and pecking away on my Blackberry ain't goin' to work for me so here I am. I have a refrigerator full of food and wasn't able to make anything good as I had school. It's on and crackin' this evening though. I want some more kale chips, and I want to make Russell James' nut free bread. If anyone wants that recipe let me know I'll send you the link. I like it because it's not heavy; add some sprouts, avocado and you're good to go! I tweaked the recipe to my liking.
He even has a mayo recipe, but that uses cashews. The only thing with dehydrating during the week is timing is more of a challenge due to having the day job. Matter of fact, that mayo recipe he has would go well as a mayo for coleslaw.
Today I had to bring snack stuff like fruit, peas/carrots, raw cashews, etc. It's sustaining me and that's all I care about. I'm going to the gym today too. It'll be nice to get in the sauna.
Have a more than good day everybody! :D

OK guys I am in, back on the 100% raw wagon. The only cooked meal I will have for the next 30 days is a meal out on Mother's Day. I am also starting an exercise challenge over on T-Tapp. I took my before pictures and now I am traumatized. How can someone lose over 50 pounds and still feel like they look the same. ACK. I hate photographs. But that makes me more determined than ever to lose the remaining weight and reach my goal. I am nine pounds heavier than I was a month ago. No more of that.
I'm so glad the site is up again- I haven't been able to get on here all day, it said the server was down!
My work sent me home today b/c I made the mistake of telling one of my co-workers that I thought I was coming down with another co-worker's cold. I felt pretty lousy all morning and that was enough to make a bunch of germaphobes tell me to go home! Of course I would have gotten more "rest" at work, since when I'm home there's always so much to do and clean b/c of my 6 pets! But it's ok, I'm feeling a lot better and I get paid for the day anyway.
B: green smoothie w/ 2 bananas, heaps of kale, frozen strawberries & mango and 1 c. water
L: 5 bananas, with about 2 T of raw cacao powder to dip, but the cacao powder is not good. I need to find the Nutiva Naturals brand somewhere!
S: lara bar
S: 4 carrots & a tomato
D: will be a big salad w/ baby lettuce, romaine, cucumber, carrots, red pepper, tomato, half an avo and raw ACV
S: probably a fruit salad w/ strawberries and some mango slices
w/o: rest day today, so just walking to/from work and a long-ish dog walk
Katy, where in NYC do you find raw/fresh coconut water or coconuts? I've been wanting to start drinking coco water myself to replenish electrolytes after hot yoga/hard workouts, but all I can find is the pasteurized Zico, O.N.E, etc coco waters! I'll admit I haven't been looking too hard though.
katchmoleen, you are back on raw and that is all that matters. Take it one day at a time, and sure enough, all those days will add up to something wonderful :)

Katy J. – you do have a sweet guy. My husband is also so supportive, though he is not going raw with me. Hold on and the cravings will go away. I find that they become more manageable after about 2 weeks but, if I am eating raw sweets they return. For example, I made a raw cheesecake and loved it but, something about it brought back that desire for certain cooked foods.
Zuri – I would love to have the recipe! Please send me the link.
Katchmoleen – Glad to see you here! Hope getting back to raw is a smooth transition. I hate photographs as well. But, I am sure there is a big difference. I wondered if I looked that much different and my husband laughed at me and pulled up an old picture on his cell phone to make the point!
Breakfast – Bananas
Lunch – leftover cole slaw
Dinner – more leftover cole slaw and some hummus and carrots.
Wow – that cole slaw must be really filling!

Katy, where in NYC do you find raw/fresh coconut water or coconuts?. I get them at a bodega on the corner of Broome and Grand. Only $2 each! I've also gotten them over on Chrystie near spring maybe?? Def somewhere between Grand and Houston. Lifethyme usually has them too. And occasionally Whole Foods down on Greenwich.

He is sweet!! And yes, I'm hoping the cravings pass. I made it through the first 2 1/2 weeks with almost no cravings but the past week has been so much harder. Maybe just a wave of detox. I think I read somewhere that as things leave your body that's when you crave them most. Will resist for now. I do think this is the longest i've stayed raw. In the past I think my max was about 3 weeks and I'm past 3 1/2 now!
So to add to earlier, I wound up having a container of blackberries for a snack this afternoon and then had the best guac ever for dinner (thanks to The Husband) for dinner with the corn chips I made yesterday. Then had some strawberries with chocolate sauce for dessett. I still want real Mexican though with real cheese.

Well, I just finished up 7 days of a water/juice fast, so today was my first day eating food. I know it's real important to go slow when adding foods back in, so today I had.....
1 Banana (VERY ripe)
some cantaloupe
about 1/4 of a pineapple
1 mango (at the movie theater) that was my "popcorn" :D
Today was my birthday, so my family took me to the movies, they ate out at Chick Fil A, I watched, and didn't feel deprived at all. As everyone else was having popcorn, I ate a mango that I had cut up and put in a bowl. I sat there and wondered if anyone else has ever eaten a mango at the movies!! HA!
My stomach is not liking coming off the fast. In fact I have broke out in this really weird rash on my stomach, like right around where my liver and stomach is. My skin hurts like I've got pins and needles, or had a real bad sun burn. This has happened before a lot since February, but we never knew it was really related to eating. I'm not allergic to anything, I've been tested.
But when I fasted, I had no rash or pain at all, then within minutes after eating, I got the pins and needles feeling, and the red rash came up.
Very strange. I do meet with my gastro. doctor on Thursday, so maybe we can come up with something??
Anyone have any ideas, besides allergic reaction?
Tomorrow, I guess I will do more fruit, and then maybe add in a watered down smoothie, or some almond milk.
Night,
Cathy

zuri - you can make mayo with almonds too, though you have to find those unpasteurized as well... one recipe is soaked almonds with dates, lemon, and salt. It's simple and amazingly creamy and good!
donny - happy birthday! Wish I had an idea for you but the rash is mystifying. I hope the doctor can figure it out!
Today I ate a banana and some fresh OJ, started dehydrating some sprouted buckwheat scones with cranberries and walnuts. Then I was feeling really dizzy and had to just sleep a lot. I'm feeling better now, had some raw carob energy nuggets or whatever those things are called (maybe they only sell them around here, dunno), and an apple with homemade pecan butter.
