What can I do with a very ripe papaya? I never had one before!

Peel it; cut it in half, pull out the seeds, slice and eat; use it in a smoozie; blend it with a banana for pudding.

If it is just ripe enough cut it in half and eat it with a spoon but if it over ripe add it to a smoothie.
I would chop them and add them to a bowl of chia jelly before I went low fat.

Is unripe papaya ok to eat? I went to a Thai restaurant and they make a papaya salad. It's basically shredded unripe paypa, basil, peanuts.

How do you feel?
Personally, I prefer not to do unripe fruit.
I'm guessing the peanuts were roasted?

green papaya salad... and it uses fish oils as well. :) i love this salad and enjoy it tremendously when i go to our fav thai place.
but i'm not concerned with being 100% raw either... if there's something not 100% in my salad, i don't worry about it. but if that's your goal... it's good to know that salad isn't 100% raw. ;)

Cut it in half, scoop out the seeds, then either scoop it out in chunks or dice it up.
Then, squeeze a little fresh lime juice on it and some salt (TRUST ME) and wow! so good! I promise.
This is the only way I eat papayas.

The papaya (from Carib via Spanish) is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya, in the genus Carica. It is native to the tropics of the Americas, and was first cultivated in Mexico several centuries before the emergence of the Mesoamerican classic cultures. It is often called a "paw paw" or a "big melon" but the North American pawpaw is a different species, in the genus Asimina.
