Well for those that were with me on my last juice attempt, and knows that I made it 6 days but was having a lot of health issues, and blood sugar problems.
I never thought I would be able to fast again :(
BUT... I'm starting my 6th day tomorrow :D
The first 2 days I only did water, and herbal teas. Then on day 3-5 I did water and herbal teas in the morning, then in the afternoon and early evening I juiced
apples, kale or spinach, and lots of celery. This time I only drank about
4 to 6 ounces at a time, then I would wait an hour or more before I would drink anymore. It really seemed to help me with my blood sugars. In fact I have felt really good and strong, except at night I find myself saying that I'm going to break the fast the next morning, but I wake up and give it another day.
I like Aleesha's advice about not breaking a fast at night, and waiting till the next day. That has really helped me this week. Today was hard because we were SO busy, and had a lot of deadlines to meet, and I wasn't able to juice till almost 4 this afternoon. But I made it through, and I feel pretty good.
Not sure if I will break it tomorrow or not, I'm taking it one day at a time.
When I do break the fast, should I add in green smoothies right away, or would fruit be better? I LOVE not being bloated!! I have not been this "flat" in a long time. It was encouraging to see though, because now I know that it isn't fat in my tummy, just a lot of air!! But, when I go back to eating (raw)
I want my tummy to stay flat and not bloat, but I just have to figure out what to eat because it seems like everything bloats me up.
So do I do fruit or a green smoothie on the first day after my last day of water/juice fasting?
Thank you all for all your support and encouragement while I find my way on this journey.
Love
Cathy

green smoothies are too hard on your body after a fast... i would start with soft fruits and then the next day add in a watered down green smoothie...
congrats on your fast!!!

Thanks so much!!
I was so excited about being able to do this again, and I was going to post right when I started, but I wanted to make sure I could do it.
Now let's see what the morning holds.

Hi there! Happy happy joy joy for you. I am going to be doing some more of this. Want to for many reasons. Brain clarity and lightness as well as, most importantly, for spiritual reasons.
I will be looking at support here as well as supporting others. I am so ready.
Just a lil side note...maybe could find if I looked...how is your daughter? I have been away a while and thought of you and wondered how its going. Personal message me if u want to. Thinking of you!

Thank you LovinLife for asking about my daughter. She is doing really well, and we are now through with physical therapy. In fact right now she is out in our garden, planting a ton of veggie plants. She was so thankful that the Lord spared her life, and He let her keep her legs.
We found out that they had 3 different emergency squads from 3 counties.
3 sets of jaws of life trying to get her out, and it took them 2 hours to cut her out. One of the paramedics said they were minutes away from amputating both her legs. Prayers were answered and we are so thankful.
Thanks for asking.
I was going to break the fast today, but feel pretty good this morning. My tongue is also SOOOO white and coated, and actually "hurts"
So, I'm thinking since that is a sign of detox, maybe I should keep going, instead of breaking the fast, and breaking the detox?? How long will the white coated tongue last :p
I have a busy day ahead of me, and I will be seeing my parents tonight, and she knows I'm fasting, and does not like it one bit. She says it's going to hurt me. So I have to act strong when I see her tonight, and not act like I'm on a fast.
I don't have anymore apples till I get to the store, but I do have carrots, celery, and spinach. I'm just so scared of the carrots and my blood sugar. Do you think if I drink a little at time, I should be o.k.?
Thanks again!!

Hey...you are welcome. OH I am so grateful her legs were safe and that she is well! Woweeee.
As for coated tongue....I would oil pull. Look it up online and do it daily! It gives you the pinkest and cleanest tongue EVER. It does a whole lot more though!
Also scrape your tongue if u can and brush your tongue and teeth with coconut oil. It is phenomenol.
Um....we get to choose what we want to eat. We are grownups now. My mom is so supportive of what I am doing. If she wasnt, it would be ok too. I am an adult now.Just the facts maam hahaha.
Drink what your body wants....listen and see what it wants and go for it. All good.

Yep, I agree 100% we are grown ups, and I'm even a momma to 4 kiddos ;)
I think she is just worried about me, knowing how I did on my last fast, and having so many health problems lately. I try to tell her that fasting will help heal those problems, but she keeps reminding me how I almost had to go to the hospital from the last one. So I just try to not bring it up. And, it went really well tonight, she didn't even mention it, probably because today has been such an awesome, energetic day, and I have this glo about me (and no, I'm not pregnant) :D
I've got so much energy right now, and feel "wired" and it's almost 11 pm.
Last night I didn't sleep much, and still was able to get up and go all day.
What is it with the insomnia? I love the energy, but not to sure about staring at the wall all night LOL!!
Today was a complete 6 days, longer than I did last night, and I'm feeling SOO
much better than the last fast.
I did my carrot juice and had no problem with the blood sugars. I did carrots, celery, and spinach. I drank about 6 ounces at a time.
The only thing different from this fast than the other is the different time of the month on my cycle. Last fast was right before my period and lasted till day 3 of the cycle, and that's when I really crashed.
This fast I started right after my cycle, and today is about day 13.
I guess that could make a big difference in fasting if you're having hormone problems??
Maybe it was just a coincidence.
Well, I will see what tomorrow holds, as of right now, I'm not a bit hungry, and feel GREAT.
Another thing I notice is my mind is having so many emotions, and my feelings towards my husband have been extremely nice ;) I think he likes this fast!
I just feel really happy, and peaceful. I pray that I don't wake up in the morning and feel the total opposite, and have to come here, and whine.
I guess when your body goes through something like a fast, you go through so many ups and downs, and it's all o.k.
I did fix me a smooth move tea tonight, since I haven't gone to the bathroom since Monday :( I don't have the urge to go, but I know that I need to go.
I would do an enema, but I don't have one on hand, and won't get to the store till Monday.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

Apples contain pectin which will add bulk to your stools and their cleansing action will encourage bowel movements. If you can get fresh plums, much better, these are known in their dried form as prunes. Prunes or the juice from them should not be used long term.

great for you on this!!! glad your daughter is ok....I love the oil pulling. I'm on my 2nd week and NEED it in the am...do it as soon as I get up so I can do it. Plus, when you do it, you can't talk so that keep 20 minutes of quiet time in the am. I've been brushing my tongue since I was in my teens. it' helps. Others comment on how pink my tongue is but there's so much I don't eat. DD's tongue is pink too...her friends have a white tongue. Sadly...they ask, we explain..it's too much trouble for them.
