Hi! My name's Natasha and I've been on a semi-raw diet for 4 days now. I wish I could eat more raw foods than I have been, but unfortunately I don't have a blender, juicer, food processor - ANYTHING that I'd need to start going 90-100%. Plus I simply can't physically eat as many fruits and veggies as I've read you need everyday, let alone the actually cost of keeping it up(which I can't afford at all). I'm fortunately going to get a (cheap) blender soon, at the very least!
I guess my point in whining about these things is - if you have ANY advice for someone with a nearly non-existent budget, PLEASE message me! :o
Anyway, I'm 21 years old and living about 20 miles outside of Portland in a small little farming town. I love hiking and learning about botany, astronomy, gardening, languages, wildcrafting, and I'm madly in love with my native home, the Pacific Northwest.
I really need to go raw. My health has been suffering for so long, and I think I'm ready for a real life change now. Ever since I was little I've had problems with my immune system and breathing, and I've always been a bit overweight(but it looks especially bad on me, my fragile skin just can't deal with it!). I also have severe depression and anxiety, and heck, I really wouldn't mind smoothing out all my bad cellulite and stretch marks from puberty!
The amazing thing is, I already see and feel major changes, and I've only been about 60-70% raw! My skin has cleared up a bit, I've lost a few pounds, and I feel consistently happy! I'm a skeptic by nature and I'm still not completely sure about some details concerning raw foodism, and I think a lot of the celebrities are pretty out there, but one thing's for sure - I'm really digging this so far. :D
I have real problems sticking to anything, but I'm pretty sure I can do this. I know I can stay 50% raw or more at least, and that's worlds better than what I've been doing these past few years!
Nice to meet all of you!
Peace,
Natasha
