View Full Version : Lump growing next to eye...

I have a lump growing next to my eye - on the outside corner. It's not like a red pimple, it is just normal-coloured skin with something pressing up against it - maybe the size of half a pea. It is obvious to someone looking at me...in fact I got a weird look from my boss the other day. Maybe it looks like I've had an injection for botox or something. The lump is quite big and it's also hard.
Has anyone heard of anything like this?
I will probably go to a regular doctor in a couple of weeks. If it is cancerous, I won't have chemotherapy, and will fight it the natural way. I am a little reticent to go, because if it is cancerous, I'm scared this will have an effect on the healing process (ie my mind set).
I can't find anything about something like this on the net... Very weird thing to have...

Queen Bean...hmmm I dont know. Might even be some thing from sun exposure. Might be harmless. Me, I put coconut oil on everything. Also MSM is for skin stuff. People have had things disappear using MSM.
I had lil things on my eyelids below my brow. I have been oil pulling (with coconut oil)for six days or so and they are going away!
Pull towards wellness and trust it is something working out of your body.
Your body will believe what the mind thinks. Its true. Be well.

Fear restricts the healing process.
Get it checked out is my only advise, not knowing more. :)
Western Medicine is good for two things: trauma medicine (i.e., broken bones and gushing blood) and occasionally, diagnosis (although it took them 6+ years and thousands of dollars to figure out I had Endometriosis, after I already figured it out intuitively ;) ).
Yes, I have heard of these before. It's just referred to as a cyst, like any other type of (usually) harmless lump in the body. I've had dozens of them in and around my eyes as a child/teenager, and normally they have to be surgically removed, either under local or general anesthetic. Go to an eye doctor at your hospital and get them to check it out for you. They'll probably prescribe you a course of drops and if that doesn't clear it up then it'll have to be surgically removed.
...But I haven't had one in recent years and I only recently discovered raw foods and fasting so I say do a fast for a week or so (juice or MC) and see how that helps things along. Do go the hospital though, just to find out what it is.
In the meantime, try a hot compress on your eye - boiled water, take a fresh piece of cotton wool each time you do this (twice a day) and wet the cotton wool and press it down onto the cyst for 15 minutes. This will possibly (although it's not likely) clear it up on it's own. Good luck :)

If you need to, go get a diagnosis, then follow your own treatment.

find natural ways to heal it
conventional ways only tear down health

I'd be very careful about getting a diagnosis because if it is cancer, and they do a biopsy (stick a needle in the lump), this may only serve to SPREAD the cancer whereas right now it would be safely contained in the lump. I'd also be wanting to eat a diet VERY HIGH in greens right now, even though it might be a little unpleasant tastewise.

It could be a calcium deposit. My mom got them... they came and went according to how much dairy she ate.

Thanks for your replies folks.
lovenlife...
i have been using msm for a while... i don't overdo the sun exposure...
Green_Woman...
i'm going to experiment with a new approach to the way i eat raw...i think i'll give it three months before i approach mainstream doctors. i am very unlikely to subscribe to their methods of treatment though. maybe i'm being extreme...it could be a subcutaneous cyst.
then i got your post Amii... thanks for all of your great advice...
Rawcstacy...that is good information to have. thanks for that...
LNdolls... I doubt this is the reason... I am vegetarian (high vegan)...occasionally I may eat a dish with the d word in it, but not often, so I doubt this is the reason... Interesting thought though...

Okay, so I went to a doctor (mainstream) today. It seems to be getting bigger, and it is really annoying me. Not as big as a pea, but if somebody is close to me, they can see it. I mean it's not miniscule either, it's quite obvious. He thinks it's a sebaceous cyst (which was my internet diagnosis). I mean, maybe he is wrong and it's something more serious, but knowing that has put my mind at rest somewhat. He has given me a referral to an opthamologist, who will (under local anaesthetic) make a small incision and extract it. I don't think I will go down that road as of yet. If it gets any bigger I may have to, as it will look unsightly, but I feel that I have to give myself a chance to try and heal it naturally. I mean he says the scar won't be obvious, but what if it is - there's no going back.
Of course, the first thing I should do is go 100% raw. But I just can't. I just need the freedom to be able to eat socially here and there. I am hoping this will fall away over time and I'll be happy to just eat a salad when I go out to a restaurant, or go to family functions. I mean there are so many times I do eat raw. At work someone called me 'weird' (because I said I don't like mixing fruit with unhealthy food) (she made a Toblerone [chocolate] dip and dipped strawberries into that). I only eat about 2% of the cake/biscuit/birthdays/morning tea type things at work as it is. I went to a family thing recently and ate raw. People kept going on about it. It was really awkward. I can easily do 100% raw days, and sometimes just raw fruits and vegetables and greens (no nuts and heavier raw foods). I am pretty high raw, but just can't go 100%.
This could have developed from creams around the eye maybe? I heard that a heat pack on the eye may help to dissipate whatever is in the cyst, and it is reabsorbed into the body. I also feel that I need to dab on some topical to cut through any eye cream I have on (I use a very natural skin care brand) - but basically, on the site of the cyst, my intuition is saying a dab of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar? (Any thoughts? It's not so close to the eye that it will sting I don't think.) What do you use as a moisturiser? Coconut oil? Any other ideas?
If anyone has any suggestions as to how I should approach this, they'd be greatly appreciated.

I've removed cysts around my eyes myself ~ although none that big. It's not that big a deal. No scarring. Just a very thin slice and it all comes out very easily. The problem with cysts is, they put pressure where there shouldn't be pressure. Can't help you on dissolving them naturally.
Don't worry about scarring - I've had this procedure around half a dozen times, in various places around my eyes and there's never any scarring. The only problem I've had is post-surgery the nerves in my eyelid were a bit damaged during the operation so my right eye is slightly bigger than my left. Never healed even though it's been 3 years..

Amii...the potential nerve damage really scares me...
Revvell...when you say 'just a very thin slice'...with what are you making this very thin slice? It sounds quite painful...

hmmm sound slike it to me...maybe you can freeze it first.
Rev what about lil dots around eyes. I dont know what they are but I would like to lose them. Maybe I can slice em...eeeeeeeeeeek:eek:
Queen Bean, I found it interesting you went on about why you cant be 100 percent raw. Is that what you see as the problem or the solution to this eye thing? Wonder if you did if it might make you feel you have done all you absolutely could for the cyst?
Its always your choice.
