Hi!

I let some kamut grains soak for 4 days on the counter, totally immersed in water the entire time.

They appear to have sprouted, but they smell really bad. They look fine, but they smell VERY BAD. Kind of sour, strange, smell. Very potent smell.

Can I still use these or do they need to be thrown out?

Please let me know ASAP if you have any wisdom...

Thanks,
Laura-Jane

PS: I can't bring myself to taste them because the smell is terrible.

Hi laura-jane ~ I have never sprouted kamut, but I have soaked whole oats for that length of time. But - when it's longer than overnight, I always soak in the fridge.

When I soak my oats in the fridge, it takes 4-5 days. I change the water daily.

Since they smell bad - I'd compost them. *Ü*

I agree. They have been composted.

Thanks for your feedback, Deb!
