unable to blend/ juice/ process at moment and there is only so fine you can chop stuff.
I heard one way of breaking down the cell walls of leafy greens was to chop them fairly fine and then squeeze lemon juice over them and leave it for a bit. Is this the case? I tried it and it wasn't that appetizing - very acidic on my teeth and I wonder if there is any benefit to doing this.

Pestle and mortar, not sure if that's the same as the above? Wash the contents into a glass with water that way :)

I have been chewing like mad. Even after chopping down leafy greens and other veggies - espec when you are eating majority raw - can be too much for the teeth and jaw. My jaw has been aching with all the chewing and it's not like I have come from previously eating only soups and smoothies. I can understand why cooking was useful before the time of blenders etc to enable humans to be able to get enough calorie load and free up some of their time from constant grazing.

I thought it was just me...I had been eating lots of carrots and snap peas and harder to chew on than just a quick swallow type things.

I have been adding in lots of softer cut up fruits during the day, now, too. Longer to prep and I have to get up earlier, but when school gets out I can get a pattern going to follow...for now it is better with the combo of added fruits mixed in.
