Hi Everyone!
I can't believe I made it! I never thought I'd make it past 3 days let alone 30! The raw food lifestyle has become second nature to me now and I am actually craving all this food instead of the ususal junk that I was having before. Here are some of the benefits and improvements I've received in the past 30 days of going raw:
- More energy
- Hair has stopped falling out (before I went raw it was coming out in clumps in the shower on a daily basis)
- I've lost 12 lbs (I've gone from a tight size 12 to a size 8!!)
- My finger nails have started a re-growth (healthier and stronger) - I can actually see the line
- Cellulite has decreased dramatically on my thighs and bum
- I have a better awareness about life - more alert and in-tune to things
- No more constipation!!
- No more bloated feeling
- Decreased depression and happier mood. I was very depressed several months ago and went on Effexor - I stopped taking it and I'm still feeling great! I still have the odd down day but no where near what I was feeling before.
- I went off birth control pills about 2 months ago (I wanted to rid my body of all toxins) and I'm having regular periods, light flows and hardly any cramping which is amazing for me since I used to have very painful periods and PMS.
These are just some of the things I've noticed, but I know there are many other things going on inside me. I am starting a fast (MC) today to rid my body of any excess toxins and to rest my system for a few days. I'm hoping to continue with the raw food way of life for as long as I can. I also plan to get my bloodwork checked again after a few months of this because when I got it done in the spring there were a lot of problems going on. My liver enzymes were elevated (?), I had high cholesterol (!!) and some other things....so I'm hoping to see some major changes in a few more months.
I feel like I'm off to a great start and for anyone who is feeling frustrated or defeated, I suggest to you to give this a try for a least a month and you will feel so much better about yourself!!! It's sooo worth it! I made it through 2 birthdays and a family gathering this month! I just stuck to my guns and ignored any negative comments. It's for our health...what could be more important than that!
Thank you all for your support!!
Be well,
Karen :)
