So, I am going to the Farmers' Market in the AM. What do I ask the honey booth for? Just say Raw honey? Is any honey raw if it is right out of the beeswax from their farm? Is it something I can get at the regular store? What I have now doesn't say either way.

Same with nuts? Ask for Raw? If they are rihgt from the nut farms, they would be I would think.

Also, am I the only one who cannot wait for blood oranges to be in season and not ridiculously priced?

Thanks everyone

Honey will say raw, uncooked, unheated sometimes.
Ask if it is cooked in any way. Usually if bee peeps heat it to extract, it is above acceptable temps.

Nuts need to be special ordered to be raw. "RAW" is on alot of packaging yet it simply means that the nuts are not roasted but they are pasteurized.

Or visit your beekeeper of trust, here in Germany there are a lot of beekeepers and they sell the honey themself, normally for an extraordinary cheap price.

There you can decide, which flavour you want to have, just as a sweetener with nearly no taste and e.g. forresthoney with a strong taste of spruce and pine.

When I asked the family I buy my local honey from, they told me that it's raw and unheated in any way. *Ü*

Didn't get there today, but thanks for the info. I will check in with them next weekend.
