hey everyone,

for about the first 6 months of being raw, i didnt feel hunger till about 1pm, so i didnt eat till then.

recently ive noticed i get dizzy and light headed in the mornings, and 2 doctors have told me that fasting in the morning is a bad idea as it slows your metabolism - ive started eating at 11am now and ive lost a tiny bit of weight (metabolism sped up?) but i still get light headed in the mornings.

what time do you eat, and what do you eat before 12? what are your opinions on metabolism?

thanks everyone!

I get up at 5. I eat what I feel to eat, when I feel to eat. This is the natural way to live.

I teach, so I have lunch break at noon or 1130 depending on who is in class that day. The only other time I have anything is every once in a while on the way to work in the car. I have been bringing baggies of carrots or snap peas and eating them on tee drive....maybe 2 or 3 days a week. I tend to sleep and not plan ahead so I eat it only if I have time to stop and grab the veg. and make a baggy.

I leave for work about 6:30, so because it is so early, I don't eat fruit only. I think carrots or the peas help me not get acid-y. And I drink a bottle of water on the way, too. Usually no dizziness.

I eat the minute I get up in the mornings - I am usually really hungry! I also eat more during the day than the evening. Lunch and breakfast are my biggest meals then I eat lighter (salad) for dinner. I don't eat fruit except in green smoothies - which is what I eat for snacks 1-2x a day depending on how busy I am.

Before 12 I will usually have a bowl of rawnola with almond milk, or something else that has lots of energy (like nuts, seeds, dried fruit, hemp, etc) and if I got up before 8 I would also have had a green smoothie before lunch.

The best part about being raw is everybody's body want something different at different times.

For me personally, I usually wake up hungry & ready to eat. That's anywhere around 6:00. If I'm not hungry then I won't eat, but it doesn't take long for that to change. I typically have a nice big bowl of fruit, about 4 peices. In the past I'd have a big smoothie with bananas & green powders like wheat grass & spirulina.

I eat everytime I'm hungry, right now it's mainly fruit, but if I wasn't eating fruit all the time, I have salads/ fruit/ veggies/ smoothies.

I work in the evenings, so my mornings are generally pretty laid back. I am up at 6 on the weekdays while school is in, as I like to see the kids off. :) I've never really been much of a breakfast person, as I an usually not hungry when I wake up. If I nap after the kids go to school, I wake up at 10, slightly hungry...which is more normal for me. I'll have a green smoothie then. Around 12 I have some more fruit..a fruit salad or whatever I feel like.

I do wonder though, since I've switched to raw, I do not seem to ever be really, really hungry. Even when I'm eating my morning fruit, like this morning, I had a bowl of strawberries, grapes and banana. I could not finish it and the bowl was not that large. I fill up FAST.

I thought everyone was going to say green smoothies before noon, lol!

I rarely eat anything before 2 pm - before that I sip on my green smoothie. I make up a quart and a half every morning. I have a glass or two at home then take a bottle with me on the bus and it's usually finished before I get to work. My lunch break at work is 2 pm and on my day off I'm usually hungry by 3-4pm then at 7 or 8 again. I get up at 8 am.

I eat in the mornings whenever I get hungry. Typcially I feel best when I stick with fruit or fruit smoothies before noon.

Sometimes not eating early in the day creates a late day eating and going to bed later and full of food.

i agree.....i'm never hungry for anything before noon...but if i don't eat, then i get really hungry and overeat later....still trying to find that balance....

Within an hour of getting up I will have had one entire melon (usually either honeydew or watermelon) and a smoothie made out of 6 bananas, 4 stalks of celery and over a pound of greens.
Ok I lie. I will have started the smoothie but it can take me a half hour to finish it.

As a newly turned raw college student I've totally stopped eating breakfast and actually found that staying awake in my classes is not a problem anymore.

I do take a banana, apple, and orange with me and when I start to get hungry (around lunch time) I nibble on them.

I eat whenever I feel hungry. Sometimes it's a little bit after I wake up, sometimes it's not until 3pm.

I always eat fruit first though. no matter what.
It varies between a grapefruit, a smoothie (ex: grapefruit, strawberries, 1/2 frozen banana, rasberries, orange, pineapple) or a bowl of fruit.

lately pineapple, kiwis, and rasberries have been making me really happy.

I only stray from fruit at dinner time, wherein I"ll have nuts and veggies, herbs, oils... stuff like that.

I ALWAYS eat before 12, if I don't my energy levels are affected and Im lethargic and ravenous for the rest of the day.

I have tried the "no eating before 12" program and it just doesn't work if you want to have the best energy, vibrancy and metabolism. Its a good way to store fat, sumo wrestlers don't eat before 12, they eat all their calories late in the day

I usually eat within an hour of getting up unless I are a really large dinner with an overt fat and I'm still full, then I'll wait a couple of hours.

Blessings,

Audrey

If I waited until 12 to eat there is no way that I would get enough calories in for the day. I try to get at least 1800 per day and it would be very hard to do it after noon.
