I've been on the forum for a while now and am taking part in this month's raw food challenge... but I neglected to introduce myself!:o
I've been a strict vegetarian for 11 years, with bouts of on-and-off veganism. I've flirted with raw veganism in the past (mostly going to raw restaurants) and doing a one-week-raw experiment.
I recently decided to make a big turn around in my life, for my health and well being. By going raw, I hope to accomplish this and be the best me I can be
My goal is to be 100% raw (give or take a few left-over pasteurized almonds and spices) for three months and from then on, depending on my experiences with that, to either continue as 100% raw for another three months, or do some combination of maybe 70% raw. We'll see when we get there :D
So far, in the week and one day that I've been raw, I've been pretty darn tired. I mean, exhausted. I was fine for the first few days, but lately I need to rest a whole lot more than usual. I also have intense cravings for meat!! I'm assuming the fatigue has to do with the detox process, but could also be linked with a b12/iron deficiency. I eat lots of nori, but will now begin to take b12 supplements.
Thanks for having me here and I'd love to get to know you all and hear what you might have to say!
