Hi everyone! :D
After years of struggling with my weight and digestive problems, I feel like this is the year I finally have to make that big change from overweight to ideal weight. Just eating raw food meals is fantastic, but I personally feel that I need something more extreme to budge the scale (and it needs A LOT of budging :(). I'm planning to buy a juicer next week, and as soon as I have it, I want to start juice fasting, and pretty much go hard-core with that until at least the bulk of the weight is off. Anyone want to join me? I can't be the only miserable fat person on this forum.

I couldn't help but notice the negativity in your last sentence.
Treat yourself with positivity & respect & understand that it may take a little while, but create the space of positive thinking around you & it will be much more pleasant :)

Bananarama .. a new juicer - how exciting! What kind are you thinking of buying?
I just purchased a hurom slow juicer -- and I love it. Took the place of my Greenstar. Makes awesome citrus juice, veggie juice, green juice ... and is q-u-i-e-t. :)
Whatever kind you get - you'll enjoy juicing. You've picked a perfect time of year, with fresh fruit and veggies becoming very plentiful! I don't do 'normal' juice fasts, so wouldn't make a good fasting buddie ... but would love to hear of your progress.
Cheers

Can you tell me a little more about the Hurom Slow Juicer?
Does it do greens like spinach, kale, and chard good?
What juicer did you have before?
Thanks

Cathy - I love this juicer. I've done spinach, kale, chard, fruit, veggies ... and they all come out fine. Well, I've discovered some black grapes clog it up ... but from experience, they can clog anything up, and are best thown in a smoothie.
the assembly and cleanup is a breeze, and it takes up a teeny space on the counter.
The juicer I mainly used before was the Greenstar. Definitely a quality juicer, but slow, a process to assemble and clean, and big space needed. It does a great job on greens and veggies, but not so great on soft fruits. I also had a Breville, but it almost was never used.
Now, every morning I peel one grapefruit, one/two oranges, a couple kiwis, a quarter fresh pineapple, a handful of strawberries and run them through the Hurom. Just drop them in, and the juice pours out -- it's fast. Then I run water through it, cause later in the day I'll do a veggie combo.
I love the way it grabs carrots and just crunches them through .. no pushing at ALL -- my veggie combos include carrots, beets, sweet peppers, cucumbers, spinach, kale, chard, romaine, onion, cabbage ...
I'm juicing much more now than before because it is so easy to use.

When you've been very overweight your ENTIRE life, you tend to be a little negative.
