We will be traveling in June and I was considering using the travel time (5 days total) to do a water fast/smoothie (or perhaps juice) fast.

We will be visiting relatives, in a small town in Idaho, so I highly doubt there will be a place to obtain fresh juice, so I thought I would take my magic bullet to do a morning smoothie. I could strain the smoothie for juice, but don't know how that would work with the magic bullet. The thought was to do the rest of the day with water.

Has anyone ever fasted while traveling? All comments and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
terry

.Has anyone ever fasted while traveling?

ALL the time, the fact that they now charge for "so-called food" on airplanes and buses has been a great enabler for me.

If you're an experienced faster, it could work well. If not, I definitely wouldn't recommend it as you may find all kinds of issues you'll have to deal with in an unstable environment. You could always try it while making sure to have a backup plan & food.

Good thought Dimond about having a backup plan.

I don't do 'formal' fasts now. I tend to have critrus juice early in the morning, a greensmoothies for breakfast and lunch, and a tomato/veggie blended soup in the afternoon. I do have a bowl of sauerkraut every other day or so. But I'm not really strict -- if I'm in the mood for a flax cracker, I'll have a few.

So given that, doing a more complete fast while traveling may be a challenge.

And you're right Rawcstacy, the airlines do help one along, don't they!!! lol
