Day 7....Day 2 for me! I am not always going to try to keep up with which day I'm on...I'm hoping to one day just forget and be on day......402!!! I have to start somewhere.

This morning I have gotten some wii fit exercise. I am going to make some chia pudding!!! I love this stuff!! I use some fruity tea, stevia, chia seeds, blueberries!!! YUMMMMM!!
Lunch will probably be a GS w/ spinach, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, spices! YUMMY.

I am going to look for a cold soup, or maybe a gazpacho recipe. I've just been craving this lately, even though I've never actually had it before, I just want something cool on these super hot days we've been having. Well, they feel super hot because it seems like just a few weeks ago we had temps in the 30's...now we are in the 80's!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!! I'll check in later!!

Yes-- I hope everyone continues on this month's challenge, and enjoys it. It is fun with so many people on board. :)

I am kind of glad I haven't had any cravings for anything that I don't have the ability to make! I only have my regular blender and a juicer. The simple way I've eaten so far has done it for me. And there are so many recipes people have shared here, that I have gotten a lot of ideas for variety, even without a dehydrator, Vitamix blender, sprouting, or making nut milk. Although, the nut milk idea is one I may try soon.

I think it was just the right time for me to do this--no struggle at all involved.

--Green smoothie: Swiss chard, banana, strawberries, splash of OJ, spirulina
--Salad: Mixed greens, avocado, purple onion, walnuts, dried fruit
--Juice: Carrot, beet, celery, cucumber, pinch of ginger
--Almonds
--Replicated the Lara Bar, Tropical flavor--will tweak it a bit next time, but not bad! Pineapple, dates, cashew, coconut flakes, coconut oil, almonds, OJ concentrate

Hello all! Hmmm, I'm thinking about substituting the almond flour for cauliflower in taboulie. That's a great idea to change things up. Anyway, blissed out today and loving it! I made more of Storm's taboulie, another salad, raw sesame spirulina bar, peas, fruit and cashews if I get desperate. I'm beginning to crave tahini..wonder if I need some calcium. Who knows, just go with what my body is telling me it wants as long as it's raw and within reason! It's going to be 90 degrees F here in Baltimore today! Have a great day all. :D

A NEW ME: It is easy to make nut mylk in a regular blender and then use nut mylk bag to strain. Making sprouts is easy too! Just soak in a jar or glass overnight.....and then drain and rinse, rinse, rinse. Then, it depends on the size seed or bean. I can put mung beans or lentils in a collander and just rinse them a couple times/day! If they are tiny seeds...I use an old CLEAN cut up t-shirt (I actually bleach and rinse the t-shirt) and use a rubber band over it to keep the shirt over the top of the jar. Rinsing and straining the seeds through the shirt cloth (or muslin or even doubled cheesecloth) is EASY and it also helps keep your seeds from drying too much during the day. Turn your jar upside down in a collandar or draining rack to let it drain!!! I even use the jar method with my mung beans!!

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEW ADVENTURE!!!@

Day 13 for me and to be honest I feel like crawling under a rock today. We had our friend over for dinner last night and that went well but we did have some wine. I don't know if this emotional downswing is because of that or just part of the detox process. I don't have any cravings for cooked food - just my couch and a dark room and some TV. Instead I'm in the office. Very tempted to hide under my desk though i have no reason to.

I know what everyone else is eating on this 30 day challenge but how are people feeling? I find the swings of good to bad pretty extreme. I guess the bad I just feel emotionally very vulnerable or something. And the good I feel like I can conquer the world. I don't think I'm normally prone to such manic depressive tendencies. Anybody else having such highs and lows? Energetically or emotionally?

it is 28 degrees here and i just finished a grapefruit banana smoothie. now i am wrapped up in a heating blanket hoping to get warm. i will go to my jazzercise class soon and sweat up a storm, but in the meantime i too want to lose track on day at some point. as tville mom said...how great would it be to someday find myself at day 403 and beyond.

i started this up again the end of March and i am loving how i feel.

today will be filled with raw and gratitude.

i am so happy to share this journey here with everyone.

Raw aside, I'll say yes to your question, but it's ironic because when I eat well, which could be a high raw-high raw and whole foods lifestyle, I'm blissful. If I'm not eating well and it's always overcast, I get those highs and lows. Going even deeper, I feel the highs and lows even more with all of these energetic/planetary changes happening BUT when I eat well everything is much better! When I'm in it I just remember that it won't last forever and I'd rather be where I am at that moment than where I was 5 or even 2 yrs ago and that my body is still detoxifying.

Okay, so maybe I just needed some chocolate.

I had a green smoothie earlier - didn't help my mood much.

But I just whipped some almonds, water, ice, a banana, some cacao powder, some agave and a pinch of salt together and I feel so much better.

Come to think of it I don't think I had any chocolate yesterday.

You could also be a little attached to the cacao too.

Haven't eaten much today, but I'm sooo tired that I literally can't get up to make myself anything- and I'm not hungry. It's already 9 PM so I really shouldn't eat anything more but I feel as though all my food will go to waste if I don't!

Breakfast: small fruit salad with grapes, green apples, mango, pineapple, canteloupe, and watermelon
Lunch: salad with balsamic and evoo, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes

Had a tea on the way home from work today... it was so cold and I didn't have a jacket. I want a green smoothie to make myself feel better but I'm just sooo tired I might as well go to bed.

Hi all.

Iīm still in after 7 days, and itīs been quite an interesting journey for me.
I had a hard time the first 4 days - mentally i felt a bit down, and I had to go to work, where there was temptations everywhere... Well - I lasted through that, but on day 5 I had a feeling of major depression. Just wanting to stay in bed, feeling all kinds of strange things. From day 1 - 5 I also had some very strange and vivid dreams.

I thought about how Alissa writes in her book, that you can use cooked food to suppress or numb your feelings - and when you start eating raw the heigthened energy highligts the parts of your life, that you may NOT want to look at... I really found this to be true this time, and I definitely have some issues I have to work with.

ANYWAY - on day 6, i felt like the fog was lifting. I got my energy and drive for life back, and now I feel REALLY good!! :) I remember this feeling of having endless energy from the last time I went raw, and I think itīs fantastic.

At last a little funny experience.. I am pregnant 9 weeks - and before this 30 day challenge I was SO hungry ALL the time - and i ate lots of junk, cooked food, sugar - you name it. Now after 7 days raw, i find that I am a lot less hungry - maybe because my body gets more nutrients on this diet??

Now I will consider going to bed, even though I am not tired at all yet.

Tville Mom: Thanks for the tips. If I want to try sprouting, your plan seems like an easy way. :)

katy.j: I'm still quite pleased that this whole raw thing has really eliminated a lot of my usual irritability. That crappy SAD food must've really been affecting my brain! A tad snippy today, I believe due to PMS, but NOTHING like I usually experience.

I must say, I don't know how I'd be doing on this, if I were still at a 9-5, especially in the city! (I'm working from home now.) I wish you all the best.

Hi All,

Food thus far today:

No breakfast

Lunch #1 - green smoothie (spinach, banana, orange, frozen mango, maca, ground flax and green supplement)

Lunch #2 - chocolate smoothie (water, almonds, cacao, maca, banana, cinnamon)... which was inspired by Katy J's second post. yummmm.

Snack - three "snackaroon" raw almond-vanilla coconut cookies from Whole Foods. Quite filling, and high fat (53 grams, not that I'm counting, but happened to read that part of the packaging.)

Dinner - not sure what this will be yet. Maybe nothing, as I'm so full at the moment.

Regarding emotional swings on raw... I would say in the first two weeks, maybe even three, I felt a little unstable mood-wise. I was detoxing heavily, and was actually out of commission for a solid seven days with a really bad cold/flu which kicked in on Day 3. But I did it all cold turkey... 100% raw including quitting caffeine and 420, mon. So mood swings were no surprise when they came. But now at Day 50 something (I dunno), I seem to feel consistently really really great. I am enjoying the way my body feels - strong, clean, pure. *shurg* Just thought I'd share my experience.

*** edited to add more:

Dinner - so delicious! Sliced tomatoes with fresh basil, olive oil, kelp granules, salt & pepper. I made the entire dish again for seconds.

Dessert - also delicious! Banana ice cream w/ walnuts & honey

I LOVE eating like this!!!

Breakfast and lunch - green smoothy
Dinner - zias lasagna
Sanck - Bananas and Apples

I really need to figure out how to greatly increase the veggies, especially greens. I think I could live on apples and bananas!
