Hi All!

I'm still in! My internet went down and my only choice was to type on my BlackBerry and I don't have the larger BB. It's still down, and I'm hoping it'll be back up in a few days. For now I'll use the internet at work during the day. It has been a great past few days, and I'm sailing along quite nicely. I did a series of enemas last night and feel absolutely fantastic! Out with the old, in with the new!

Today I started my day off with 1qt of distilled water with lemon juice. I also have cole slaw (still looking for the perfect dressing that will mimick the mayo stuff used in it in reg slaw), green smoothie, marinated mushrooms, fruit and raw ginger sesame crackers. YUMMO! I can't wait to dig in! It's nice to bounce out of bed too. Have a great day everybody! :D

I find cashew mayo works but, I think I need to add a few more herbs and some water - I guess vinegar isn't raw, right?

I'm in for the April challenge!! I have two weeks until my FL trip which I wanted to do raw anyway and I have some weight I'd like to get rid of in these two weeks - just want to feel right in my body again :)

This morning I am feasting on a bowl of strawberries..... I also brought
A bag of clemtines
blackberries
tomatoes
avocado
sugarsnap peas

Need to get some greens tonight as I am thinking of doing a couple green smoothie only days....regardless, I need to add the green smoothie back into my life. Gosh, getting off track for a month or so really does bad thing!! :D

Zuri - raw ginger sesame crackers sound SO GOOD!!

kgarrett - they do make a raw apple cidar vinegar, at least it is labled as such and Alissa calls for it in her recepies. I'll have to look in my cupboard and come up with a brand.

Happy eating! :)

I may try that next. I've only tried the one in Alyssa's book. Looks like you got the answer to the vinegar question. Hmm, I never knew it came raw, interesting! I really like lemon juice though, over vinegar and that's just me. ;)

"You don't know how unhealthy you were until you get healthy." I just heard that in a raw testimonial.

I so look forward to continued amazing health improvements. I am intrigued by the lack of irritability, the 'lightness' I feel, almost like a bit of a high, after only a few days of raw.

...Needed a nap today. I'll hope it's cleansing going on...

B: Green smoothie: Kale, 2 bananas, 1 1/2c blueberries, spirulina. Mmm!
S: store-bought raw bar
L: avocado
S: pear
D: Salad - mixed greens, avocado, walnuts, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, purple onion, o/v/honey dressing

Hi all..

Zuri

I also have cole slaw (still looking for the perfect dressing that will mimick the mayo stuff used in it in reg slaw) I make this Avocado mayo that makes the coleslaw absolutely divine...

The brand applecider vinegar I use, and that is RAW and has the "mother" in it is Bragg's, same brand that has the Bragg's amino acids. I find it in the grocery store, sometimes around the other vinegars, other times in the healthfood section.

B-green smoothie=kale, banana and ripe pear, my favorite right now.
s-pineapple
L-zucchini pasta with olive oil, fresh blk peppar and chopped tomatoes and basil
s-?
D-Jicama salad with Orange and spinach. some carrot cake too...

Hi everyone. Good to hear you're doing well.

B. smoothie: juice of 4 oranges, 3 bananas, big bunch red leaf lettuce.

L. juiced beets, carrots, and apples

S. a big salad

This wasn't really a great day. I had some very overwhelming cravings today and my mood went down throughout the day. Sigh.

B: water
L: banana and apple
S1: snap peas and a couple dates
D: large salad (mixed greens/romaine hearts/1 big avocado/1 small cucumber/hemp seeds/basil-lime dressing) followed by a cup of mint tea

calculated calories just to see today, and only came up at 900, so dessert was 2 enormous scoops of raw vanilla gelato and 2 chocolate macaroons :)

+ 1 mango + frozen mango blended with water

Avocado mayo...So how do you make yours?

..like this.
#2
1 Avocado, the riper the better.
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/4 teaspoon salt
pinch of cayenne
1/4c olive oil, cold pressed, I ususally use less, but this is what it calls for.

I also make this dressing..
#1
2 tbl spoon agave
2 tbl spoon applecider vinegar
1 tbl spoon olive oil
Celery seeds to taste

So first I make the coleslaw with the vinegar dressing #1...while that is sitting and getting aquainted in the bowl, I make the mayo, and once it is complete I add the mayo to the slaw and mix together...so good.
I don't miss SAD coleslaw at all, this is now the favorite slaw in our house..SAD or RAW eaters alike.

Huh, I've never fancied coleslaw--raw or regular--but now I'm curious about this.

We decided to stay upstate last night and I'm working from here today. We're going to head back to the city around 5 and then go to Pure Food and Wine for dinner! Can't wait. I haven't been there since the fall. They have this beet ravioli that is outrageously good. I hope it's still on the menu.

For breakfast we had some melon - some kind that started with a G? It wasn't bad for melon. I'm not a melon fan so that's a rave review from me.

Then we had a chocolate shake. Mmm. This is becoming my daily indulgence.

I really wanted a coffee this morning but I'm trying to just observe the cravings and see what they're about. It seems like there is usually some sort of emotional discomfort that drives them. I was feeling kind of anxious this morning - normal Monday morning stuff - and a coffee would have been the comfort cure.

Raw food sure doesn't let you stuff your feelings down the way cooked does.

*jealous* !!!!!

I love Pure Food and Wine! Wish they had a place like that out here in KC. Enjoy!!!

Today so far:

breakfast - orange and an apple w/ almond butter

lunch - green smoothie, and currently polishing off the vege tray and onion dip from yesterday

I have "sausage" in the dehydrator now... though it isn't appealing to me... for some reason I've really disgusted all of a sudden by mushrooms, and this recipe calls for two cups. I'd already been sprouting the wheatberries for two days, so I went ahead and made the recipe, but am not excited for it like I usually am for new stuff. ah well.

I'll be back later with more.

cheerio.

*** back to add:

Dinner: sliced tomatoes with fresh basil, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt & pepper. (so good!)

Dessert: smoothie - bananas, water, almonds, cacao, and vanilla extract... mmmmmm hits the spot!

I find that I can't do this too well if I am making all those recipes. Simple works best for me though I would love to try all those yummy foods you all are making. I just don't have the time or energy to prep for all of that.

Today so far I have had some dried apples and a couple of bananas. When it is hot outside I am just not all that hungry. I took my son to the playground and for a walk in the woods. I am planning to make some cole slaw tonight. I may also make a green smoothy. Those are a staple of course.

I am finding I have some muscle weakness that is unexpected. I don't know why that is. I have been on this journey for 4 weeks. I have a lot of weight to lose so I hope I am not losing muscle mass.

The cravings for cooked foods are becoming more manageable.:D

Too busy for brekkie...doh! I must make sure that doesn't happen again.

Lunch - green smoothie - spinach, kale, frozen banana and 2 medjools
Dinner - sunny pate, orange pepper, cherry tomatoes, pak choi, 1/2 an avo
Snack - 2 piece raw chocolate

I don't think I'm eating enough. I'm nursing a ten week old and have had a couple of sleepless nights and it's caught up with me today. Missing breakfast today was unfortunate but it couldn't be helped. I am not really hungry at all. I have been lazy with my food choices too, having the same every day because I made a massive batch of sunny pate and I know what I like and have little time to prepare foods as I am by myself and he is feeding CONSTANTLY! (not that I'm complaining). One thing which does concern me is that I am going to get bored if I don't find some new recipes soon because I am still enjoying sights and smells of cooked so need some substitutes to get me through.

:) I just so happened to have gone 100% Raw April 1st. So it's my 5th day Raw. Coincidently I have just found all of you people who just started April 1 too.
So far I have realized I got to stop making such big quantity's! I keep making like a whole pan of veggie layered pie or shredding a huge batch of zuccini linguini thinking that I won't have to cook later or someone else will want some, but they never do, and if I make something the veggies get old and gross even in the fridge, so i guess i got to start preparing meal by meal.
tired of veggie choppin'

P.S..... I had no temptations on EASTER!!!!!!!!! I didn't want the crummy waffles & cakes & candy!!!! WOOHOO! My mentality is back to where I'm thinking of food as nourishment & not just taste!!! :)

I got my appetite back:eek: and I just could not stop eating today.

B - larabar (H2O)
S - GORAW Spirulina bar (luv those!!!)(H2O)
L - slaw salad with salsa
S - dusted off the fruit salad, 1 last huge bowl
D - OMG finally made mock chicken salad and I have my new favorite staple, ate some of that atop dehydtrated crackers I picked up from WF.

I was craving ice cream so bad for dessert but opted for a bowl of sweet, cold, juicy, grapes:D.

I also tried a little cardio which I know could have been longer (20 min) but its a start. We hold the keys to true health and happiness and fitness is a huge part of detox and everything but here is my prolem which some of you might resonate with.... when I work out I get insatiably hungry for everything and I think subconcisely I didnt push myself because I was afraid of caving. I know to eat a peice of fruit after to replace carbs so I just need to keep that in the forefront of my sc. How have some of you tackeled this problem?

Oh I almost forgot, as Im sure many of you are well aware, MY FACE ISNT PUFFY ANYMORE!!!!:D There is nothing better then looking in the mirror and LOVING what you see and when my face was puffy I felt like I had to wear a lot of make-up and today? Just a little concealer..oh yah:p

Have a good night all.

Hi, everybody! Tomorrow is day 1 for me. Up until about two weeks ago, I didn't know what raw meant...well, you know what I mean! This is all completely new to me. I am sick of feeling like this. I'm ready! Chat with you all tomorrow....
