Join the Organic Consumers Association's boycott of brands

The OCA maintains a boycott against the following brands, which it characterizes as "fake organic brands":

• Avalon "Organics"
• Desert Essence "Organics"
• Earth's Best "Organic"
• Eminence "Organic" (Except Few w/USDA Seal)
• Giovanni "Organic"
• Goodstuff "Organics"
• Head "Organics"
• Jason "Pure, Natural & Organic"
• Kiss My Face "Obsessively Organic"
• Nature's Gate "Organics"
• Physicians Formula "Organic" Wear
• Stella McCartney "100% Organic"

NaturalNews urges readers to join in this boycott and avoid buying these brands until they reformulate to be truly organic (USDA organic). Note carefully that even the Kiss My Face "Obsessively Organic" products are not considered truly organic by the OCA. Don't trust product names alone, as brand names and product names may be misleading.

Thank you for that great list!
Everyone should also be aware that some supermarkets "cheat"http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/angry26.gif (http://smileyjungle.com) when it comes to organic food as well, although I'm sorry I don't have a list to offer you. - CAVEAT EMPTOR

Aubrey Organics is another good brand.

I consider the first category as fake natural products. Doesn't matter whether it's organic if the ingredients are still toxic. This is why it's best to stick with very pure products that use little ingredients. Even better if you can make your own.

Aubrey Organics is another good brand.

Agreed. The founder Aubrey Hampton(a man of integrity at least) wrote the book on it - Natural Organic Hair and Skin Care: Including A to Z Guide to Natural and Synthetic Chemicals in Cosmetics (1990) which was also a guide to making natural products included some the formulas in his product range of that time. In hindsight his toothpaste formula (in the book) isn't optimal as it contains glycerine, which we now know prevents teeth from remineralizing.

I might add that it's still better NOT to use ANY soap/shampoo/lipstick in the first place. Cleansing butters/oils and tooth cleansers are OK and like Dimond mentioned you should make them yourself. If you don't feel you have the time or smarts, I may be willing to start making these things again and shipping them to those interested, so let me know.:)

Aubrey Organics is another good brand.

I think that you should contact them and suggest that they try to get their name on the list.

I noticed today that my KissMyFace brand deodorant says "Obsessively Natural" instead of "Organic" haha

Jojoba oil and tea tree oil are better, as well as considerably more costly in their pure raw form.

As the organic movement catches on I fully expect to see more of these fake organic claims just as a marketing gimmick and excuse to charge more. People really need to research before they buy, but unfortunately I don't believe this will happen in most cases.
