Hey all,
Hope you're having a good weekend and a good start to day 3.
I'm feeling good but craving something heavier today. Something with grains. The tough thing about raw for me isn't the lack of delicious food. It's how long it takes to make some of it. And then I'll start soaking or sprouting things and forget about them and then they go bad. Practice I guess.
Joya's blogpost the other day made me want to make the meatloaf recipe in Alissa Cohen's book but it takes a day to soak and sprout the barley and then another day to dehydrate the loaf. I'm not a lazy person but I am realizing I don't like to do things that don't give me an immediate reward. And I want meatloaf for dinner today. Not Monday. Hrmph.
Well anyway, the barley is soaking now.
I think I'm going to make a coconut shake for breakfast - chai or chocolate - I'm not sure which yet. And maybe have the rest of our leftover granola.
For lunch I'll have some guacamole with flax crackers. And for dinner I think I want to make some zucchini pasta with pesto though I'm also craving a soup. Maybe both!
Happy Saturday raw fooders!

Hi everyone. Oooh, isn't it great to be doing this?!!
I lost 3lbs yesterday! And my skin is already firming up. Puffiness is disappearing quickly.
Awoke very tired as I was up half the night. Looking forward to the day when the insomnia is gone again.
B. Smoothie with cacao, 2 bananas, agave, ice, water. Yummo! And it woke me up.
L. Green smoothie: parsley, spinach, blueberries, grapes, juice of 2 oranges and 1/2 a lemon.
Late afternoon: Pink Smoothie: asparagus, raspberries, 3 apples, 1 banana, agave.
Supper: salad: red leaf lettuce, olives, cuke, tomato, red pepper, red onion, radish, broccoli, carrots, brown unhulled sesame seeds with a homemade (not very good) dressing. Now I am stuffed and am done eating for the day.

Hi everybody, it's been a pretty good day so far. Went wandering down to our little farmer's market hoping the produce guys would have some nice things... but they weren't there! :(
Still, I survived browsing the food stalls and admiring the cupcakes etc. All I wanted was a pear. And some books. So I got those things and ate my pear on the way home :) Also bought a little potted blue hyacinth for my kitchen that smells incredible. I love having flowers and plants around me in the spring, and especially on raw.
I also decided to stop in at this little health food store near my house and... they had RAW flax crackers and granola!!! AMAZING!!!! So maybe in a month or two when I feel able to, I can try some of those. Right now I'm being super super strict. I find it's the only way I can get motivated. Sooo...
Breakfast: green smoothie (banana, spinach, water)
Snack: pear
Lunch/dinner (that I'm eating right now): kind of weird salad with kale, tomatoes, zucchini, hemp seed oil, and acv
Forgot to eat my grapefruit!

Hi all! I lost 1.2 pounds over two days, and that really helps stay motivated, but I'm finding other things to focus on too. I live in northern Virginia and everything is blooming right now. Just beautiful. Typically, I couldn't spend a day outside today without reaching for the allergy pills. No problem today. I don't think 3 days on raw foods would be the cure, but my daughter (who also is allergic to pollen) and I gave up dairy about three weeks ago. Do you think that might have something to do with it?
Tomorrow I am giving up my black coffee. I know, I know...should have done so already but this has been a ritual my whole adult life. However, I started getting heart palpitations after my coffee lately. Can't be good, so I'm ready to replace it with something else. Anyone have some tips for handling the withdrawals?
So far today:
Green smoothie for breakfast
Larabar
Big salad with faux salmon pate
banana
So glad to be doing this with you all. Your posting really inspire me!

Made it through the 3rd day 100 % raw.. :)
B - melon and pears
S - Green juice of spinach, celery, cucumber and apples
L - Avocados and tomatoes + some dates
S - Strawberrys and banana
D - Alissas kale salad which I absolutely love. Itīs really good!
Why do people have to bring cake to work EVERY day?? Today there was 3 different kinds of cake to resist... Couldnīt someone bring some fruit instead??
Well - I resisted the temptation and feel great now! ;)
For tomorrow I have made Alissas beanless falaffel and cucumber sauce. This is a really easy recipe, and it tastes GOOD! Having them for lunch or dinner tomorrow!

Actually this day is 13 days in a row for me. I am so excited to be here. I don't have a plan yet for food. I grazed on fruit again this morning and then made some guacamole and ate it on lettuce. I also had a salad with guacamole on it for dinner. I may try to make a nice little dessert tonight with some carob I have.
Have a blessed Easter tomorrow. I know holidays can be more difficult. Remember to bring snacks with you wherever you go!:)

Today is my 7th day raw & my skin looks amazing. I forgot how eating 100% raw changes it so quickly. My pants fit better!
I feel so clean & having all the support for this forum is helping me look @ food again the way I need to......it either provides nutrients for my body or it doesn't. This is what I needed to get me through Easter with SAD food around tomorrow. It's in the bag :)
Today was:
canteloupe/ pears/ apples/ grapes/ blueberries/ a few tomatoes/ carrots/ mushrooms/ cucumbers

Aspirant (my husband) and I just had our first raw dinner with a non-raw guest over.
We made zucchini pasta with pesto and then for dessert had avocado chocolate mousse with a cashew vanilla creme sauce topped with strawberries and bananas. She thought it was all delicious!
My headaches are back - sheesh - 9 days, when will they go away already??! But otherwise feeling okay. A bit tired today--maybe it was just the long bike ride yesterday or maybe I'm detoxing a bit.

Hey SusanV,
When I went off coffee, I went on green tea for a bit. I don't like green tea enough to get hooked on it but it made the caffeine withdrawal period a bit less severe.
I am still getting mild headaches in the evenings - I don't know if this is the coffee or what but with the exception of maybe yesterday I've had them everyday. This is day 9 raw and coffee-less for me. More of an annoyance than anything debilitating.
B: Strawberries and Granola followed by a chocolate coconut shake
S: Rosemary flax crackers with mango salsa and guacamole
L: Avocado cilantro soup paired with tomato basil soup (this was awful!)
S: More strawberries and some leftover chocolate coconut shake
D: Zucchini pasta with pesto, avocado chocolate mousse with vanilla creme sauce, strawberries and banana.

LOL, just wait until you want to make the sausage! I began that endeavor today... and it takes TWO-THREE days to sprout the wheatberries! ;)
Keep us posted on how the meatloaf turns out. In my experience it took longer to make it than it did to eat it.
Anyway... today went like this:
Large delicious salad from Whole Foods, followed by an over-priced but yummy "mega chai raweo" cookie.
Coconut milk from young coconut (I'm currently choosing to ignore the controversy over chemicals/formaldehyde because I'm a sucker for these things. But this might not last for long.)
Creamy tomato soup
Orange
Good day... not too hungry today...

B - larabar
L - huge salad with flax crackers
D - huge salad and fruit salad
I dont seem to have much an appetite but kept it super simple today. Was invited to a bar-b-que and was a little ascared BUT I made a huge fruit salad in case there wasnt anything else RAW but fortunately someone brought a big grean salad so I ate like a Queen:p, I had three plates but would have rather sat down with the whole bowl (one of those "you know your RAW when...).
All in all a good day, headaches subsiding and not as tired as first 2 days, our poor bodies and what we put them through, I mean being SAD and all.
Anyway good to see all your posts and keep up the great efforts.

I don't know... I might have to draw the line on anything that takes more than 3 days to make from start to finish : )
What's the controversy on coconuts?? Oh, maybe don't tell me. I love coconuts and don't want them ruined.
Glad they had a good salad for you Clover.
