Hey all,
Not sure if a moderator was supposed to start this but it's 9:30 and I'm ready to start the 30 day challenge!
Very excited to have some support on this round of eating raw. This will be day 7 for me and so far it's going great.
I did a little over 3 weeks raw last November but then fell off the wagon on Thanksgiving thinking it would be easy to just get right back on the next day. It wasn't and it's taken this long for me to finally come back to commiting to 100% raw again. I can feel the difference already.
Good luck to everyone!

Hi katy and mamma!
So relieved - yes, that's the right word - to be here with you. I pretty well stopped eating mostly raw in January - but I am back and intend to stay.:D
B - Smoothie of pineapple/beet greens
Snack - apple
Back later - have no plan for my food - but it will be raw.:D
Okay, I''m back. My lunch was another smoothie with cacao, 2 bananas, unhulled brown sesame seeds, handful of spinach, juice of 2 oranges and a pkg of stevia.
Snack: some dehydrated yummy spicy raw crackers and some of my guacamole from goneraw.
Tonight I am finishing up the day with a raw salad (red peppers, hot peppers, cuke, broccoli florets, romaine, iceberg, grape tomatoes, red onion, celery, radish, dill pickle and olives.) Dressing: evoo, lemon juice, garlic, pepper, oregano, sea salt, thyme.
For a dessert snack: raw coconut, raisins, walnuts, hemp seeds, brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds and a sprinkle of agave. YUM.

The sun is shining in NY, too. Such a relief.
I need to get better about figuring out what to eat at the office.
Right now I have the fixins for a green smoothie (banana, apple, mango, and greens - normally kale but today I have a bit of chard and a collard leaf), some raisins, kind of old and hard dates, a bag of raw granola, a bag or vegetable tempura, and some sea salt and pepper crackers made with veggies and seeds.
But I've got a late night and won't be home til 9:30 or so. I see a salad in my future and maybe a quick stop at Bonobo's, where they have some great raw soups and things, on my way to the talk I have to give tonight.
So here's the day's meal plan:
b: a banana and some granola
l: green smoothie and some raisins
s: dehydrated veg tempura and crackers
d: stopped at Bonobo's and The Husband met me there. red pepper coconut soup. tomato basil soup mixed with avocado cilantro soup. Both are soooo good. Coconut water. Coconut chai. Some chocolate.
And now back to work.

Hello and good luck to all taking this month's challenge.
I have limited special equipment as of yet, but I do feel quite a determination to do this. I've managed to be at least 85% raw for the last few days. I'm really surprised that I haven't been more hungry. Although, I've been coming out of a little flu-like sickness, the last few days.
Really refreshing to find what seems such a friendly, sensible board.
B: fruit salad
L: I'm going to try to make something resembling a smoothie with some kale and fruit. ...Can a regular blender handle making greens a palatable drink, or should I just juice it (I do have a juicer)?
I'll be on the road after that, and will probably stop at the health food store for some nuts, and bring raisins and dates that I have. Then probably a big salad for dinner.

I am glad to be joining in for this 30 day challenge. I have never made it past 14 days. I am looking forward to making it past that point. I am currently about a week and a half into 100% raw. 14 days for me will be Easter Sunday.
Some advice for the previous post: The first time I went raw it was for 2 weeks. I did make some smoothies in my vitamix but, for the most part I kept it simple. Some walnuts and apples, a couple of salads. Carrots, cucumbers and celery. Actually, when I get too complicated with recipes it gets harder for me. As for the green smoothy. I don't recommend Kale in a regular blender but, you could always try. Some people can handle the chunkier pieces - I am a texture person and could not. I wonder if you juice it first if you then add the juice and pulp to the blender if it will mix better than the whole pieces of Kale would. That might be a bit too much work.
I a suffering some cravings this morning. I think because my activity level was so high yesterday but, I am looking forward to my green smoothy later today.
Good Luck everyone!

Hi All,
It's great to read all of your posts. Today is day 1 for me. I've been raw off and on for a while but am determined to be high raw for at least 3 months then see how I feel about incorporating other things I won't mention here. I have at home, plenty of produce but got home late last night and have an event to go to tonight so wish me luck! I will make it.
I had an apple and part of a Lara bar. The good thing is I get to go home for about 2 hrs before I leave for the event so I can grab a snack and they'll be serving dinner there so I'll be on the lookout for a salad and take my own dressing.
I can't wait to make some cole slaw and sip on smoothies with nut milk. Have a great day!

Im so glad to be here today, I fell off as many of you have and thought it would be easy to jump back on ....... and so here I am months later. I listened to an archived podcast from Alissa yesterday and knew it was time to return. She mentioned how its easier to go 100% RAW then dable here and there because you are always thinking about what your eating instead of just enjoying your food. I did try many times to stay high RAW but could never succeed because of the strong addiction to SAD. Ive been really tired, bloated, sad, headachey:(......you name it. So I'm so excited to jump onboard.
B - Larabar
L - hemp protein, thai coconut water, pineapple and papaya smoothie
D - tbd
I'm in for another thirty! So glad so many are in on this too! :)
I started off doing raw food for lent, which ends this weekend... but I have a deeper desire now to stay raw because I feel so good and I know I'm feeding my body with the nutrients it needs. I feel really connected to this type of lifestyle, and though I am still taking it one day at a time, I am intending to be raw indefinitely.
Anyway, today thus far:
breakfast: an orange and a half
lunch: Huge Green Smoothie: kale, spinach, green supplement, ground flax, dried coconut flakes, maca, bananas, frozen cherries, frozen mangos
snack: several handfuls sprouted pumpkin seeds
dinner: TBD (though I'm thinking I'll be creative, as I have only odds and ends left of produce hanging around...)
*** edited to add:
Dinner: mock salmon on spinach and tomatos
Dessert: mudslide

I just started a 100% raw vegan diet for the first time ever this past Saturday. I am doing it through a restaurant so most of my meals are prepared. The vegan part is not a problem, the raw part is what I am having trouble with so far. I feel like I have hit a psychological wall where I am losing my appetite and don't want the texture or taste of most raw foods in my mouth. Any advice for what I can do to get past this?

Hi - I'm new here and am starting today! I went raw for 30 days last year and it ended up being a lifestyle up until the fall. I am feeling the urge to go raw again so here it goes... I wrote up a great menu for the week and then my car wouldn't start today so I couldn't get to the market. So, keeping it simple for today! Actually, I'm *really* hungry so I can't wait to get to the store tomorrow!
Day 1
B - banana, 1/2-cantaloupe, almonds
S - raisins, carrots
L - raw flax crackers, carrots (was planning to make a green smoothie but ran out of time)
S - almonds
D - green smoothie (spinach, apple, banana, strawberries, mango); almonds, carrots, apple w/cinnamon
Hopefully tomorrow will be better after I go shopping. I'm craving a raw taco... =D

Didnt know what was in store for din din but as I gazed into the fridge and realized how many wonderful things I had I wanted to share. Zucchinni pasta with my WONDERFUL spiral slicer, marinated brocolli, mushrooms, yellow bell peppers, purple onion and fresh ginger in sun dried tomato oil and apple cider vinegar.... tossed together. Its a flavor explosion but 2 great things about it was my hubby and daughter loved it and my daughter is my toughest critic. Sleep well for tomorrow begins another glorious day:D

Hi.
Iīm new to this forum. I have been fascinated by the raw lifestyle for maybe 10 years. But it wasnīt until I found Alissaīs book about 2 years ago, that I succeeded in doing the diet 100 %
Thanks to Alissas book, I went absolutely 100 % raw and stayed at it for almost a year. I felt great - lost about 15 kg. and had more energy than ever! Unfortunately after the first year i started eating some cooked food again - at first just very small amounts, but over the last year itīs been more and more! I have tried to get back on track many times without the same succes as the first time.
Right now I am 8 weeks pregnant - have been eating a lot of junk lately, but I really, really want to get back on the raw path. The switching back and forth from the raw diet have really made me realise how much better I feel when Iīm raw.
So April - here I come!! I have done it before, so I must be able to do it again!! :)
Btw - Iīm from Denmark - so pardon my english, if the spelling isnīt correct. ;)
I already feel so much better after just one day of 100% raw - and really looking forward to this month!
See you!

Keanablue, what raw foods do you not like the texture and taste of? when I first began, there were some I could not eat so I stayed away from them and when I tried them later found I liked them better. Cilantro I still can't eat and certain letteces, and now I am finding I am staying away from apples. Could be just phases?

I would like to join the 30 day challenge. I struggled over the winter with eating some cooked foods and some raw foods and suffered from major digestive problems due to that combination. I need to make some changes because I can't go on this way. I am ready to commit to 30 days of raw foods to see how that helps.

Hello, all. I would like to join the 30 day challenge as well. I'm posting on the 2nd, but I did eat all raw foods yesterday, just didn't make it to the computer.
I learned about raw foods about a year ago and have been trying with limited success for a year. I have never done a full 30 days, but this time will hopefully be the charm.
Good luck to everyone.
