I am totally ignorant at raw food preparation and was introduced to it by a distant friend. She made a cheesecake for us and it was so delicious that I want to try and make one. It calls for soaked cashews but doesn't say how long you should soak them. Can someone advise me? Please?

Most of us here including myself soak nuts overnight (4-8 hours anyhow), soaked nuts are much easier to blend to a creamier consistency.
For cashews, since they're so soft - you can soak them around 2 hours for a recipe. I buy cashew 'pieces' since I blend them anyway and they're a lot cheaper than buying whole cashews! *Ü*

I don't like cashew pieces as they oxidize/go rancid quickly, whole cashews are fresher product.:D

Why don't you search this board for a cheesecake recipe? You will find some posted by people on this board and it will have all the ingredients and instructions. Just click on the banana at the very top of the page. Hope it works for you.

Hey Breanna! Welcome to the raw world. :)
Definitely don't oversoak cashews - they will be soooo mushy if you leave them overnight. Just 2-3 hours is more than enough.
Here is my favorite raw cheesecake from RawKnitster - complete with pic! (drool):
