My hubby took me to a raw food restaurant Friday night for the first time EVER!!! I was SSSSOOOOO in heaven!!! I didn't have to ask for replacements in any meals, or just drink water, or have 2 items to choose from.... it was FREEDOM.....FREEDOM AT LAST FREEDOM !!!!! I was just about in tears when ordering. I tried 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, 1 juice and a side order of onion rings! I took dessert to go, which was 4 macaroon cookies, 1 macadamia nut fudge cookie and a piece of carrot cake (and I ate 1/2 of those on the way home!)
The restaurant is so far away from us though, almost 2 hours and with the price of gas now....eek! I want to take my dad there this week for his birthday. We'll see.
How many of us here go to raw restaurants on a regular basis???

I live within an hour of a few good raw restaurants, so I end up going to them at least a couple times a month. I love going to raw restaurants. I feel like I'm among my own kind, the same way I feel when I go to my hard-core health food store. Going to these places are some of my favorite things to do. I feel so at ease.

I've never been to a raw restaurant, but I've been to several pot lukcs that were absolutely heaven, and I've been to hundreds of feasts, yummy.
Never had anything that wasn't superb.
Isn't it heaven, to allow yourself to try tons of new and exciting foods?

HOORAY!!!!
what city is the restaurant in? we are getting a raw restaurant in Dallas soon I think/hope!
Myself, I haven't been to a restaurant in over 3 years - and I haven't been to a fast food chain since 1997!
My friends think it's strange or atleast complicated- sooo I know what you mean about freedom in regards to this dining issue! I'd be in tears too! I hope there will be more of these soon- I won't know what to do if someone else prepares my dinner for me- WOW!!!! :p

I go sometimes more than once a day to Go Raw Cafe on the lakes in Las Vegas. I can walk there in 5 minutes from my house. It's like 2 streets down from me. Be lucky you don't have one near you or you'd go broke like me! :D
Where was the chocolate??? My Whole Foods sells raw cheesecake!

Wow, to be able to go to a raw restaurant! I'd love that! The closest one to me is 375 miles, dh says no.
But, we are going to Utah next weekend and maybe they have one there. I need to check that out. Oh, if they did, I'd be going there several times if we could!
Glad you got to go to a raw restaurant!

it seems like all-raw food restaurants or even all-raw fast food drive thrus and carry outs could be a great business venture for many entreprenuers very soon... I hope they catch on. :)
When I go out all I see are miles and miles of businesses that I would never even have a reason to go into.
I feel like I live on someone elses planet most of the time!
It would be so convenient, when short on time or away from home, to have the option of just picking up (an genuinely raw) lunch- that's a concept I have not known for a very long time.

I live in the suburbs of NYC and have so many choices quite nearby. I only recently started my raw journey, but we went to Pure Food and Wine for my birthday in August. My husband is a total meat and potatoes guy and he had fun teasing the waitress and making all sorts of fuss about the food. But in the end, he could not deny that it was AMAZING and we felt so great afterwards. Not the usual heavy head, distended belly feeling of eating out. I must go down to the city more often...

The raw chocolate was kept with the organic candy bars, on the very bottom shelf. It was so funny, my mother was with me and was laughing as I did my "HAPPY RAW CHOCOLATE JIG" !!! :D
RAW PIE??????? I think I'd be dinning there just on that alone !
