I've been listening to Revvell and Alissa's radio show (old episodes on rawkinradio.com), pretty obsessively(!) :D and while they do address a lot of issues with the raw food diet specifically, they talk about SO MANY MORE, wider issues, like holistic healing, personal growth, and the way that, when you start living more healthily, you really start living consciously and improving your relationships, career, etc., etc. (I LOVE this stuff! ;))

So I thought it'd be nice to hear some good stories about positive changes y'all have made that go beyond physical health conditions?

Personally, focusing on my health, as the raw movement inevitably encourages you to do, I've left behind a LOT of disordered eating issues and become a lot more positive and motivated. I feel like a lot more of a person with my own thoughts, opinions and dreams. That might not sound like much, but it's made an unbelievable difference to me, day-to-day, and made me a whole lot more comfortable with myself.

Your turn now!

Go! ;)

I'm pretty healthy overall and didn't have any weight issues. So I basically got some more energy and no migraines since going 90% raw about 5/6 months ago. Clearer skin. I did lose some weight but not a tremendous amount, like 7 lbs.

I am a happier person. Honestly...I was pretty screwed up in the head. Struggled with depression most of my life. I wanted to kill myself more times than I can remember. I'd say I was a bit crazy. I was given antidepressants while living the sad life. Those made it worse. So I quit taking them after about a month. I didn't understand the connection between food and mental state. I used to eat a lot of sugar, salt, processed crap. I drank almost every day. And not just one or two. Smoked about 3 packs a day. Weighed 211 at 5'5". Can you say walking disaster and time bomb. Wowza for the mood swings and irratic behavior. Trial and error led me to raw. I felt better and better with every healthy step I took. Being, and staying, raw makes my life better because I am not only physically better, mentally I am happy. Being happy and being able to see the bright side of life is a gift that goes way beond the 70lb weight loss. I read all kinds of books on being happy, and how to be happy, and don't sweat the small stuff, ect....I should have put down the bread and ate an apple. Honestly... I do thank God for leading me down this path. It has been a great journey thus far.

When I wake up in the morning, my first thought/feeling is happiness. I really think "I feel love for myself and for the world!". :p. My body feels light, strong and clean, mentally :D.

I did not experience this before eating (a lot of) raw organic foods. But at one point of my life I noticed: I am the one who has to take care of me. And I did it by eating raw and organic. My body loves it - and shows me when i am committing an error. (e.g. regular salt and glutamate make me feel horrible, I even dream strange things at night.)

These pages cannot contain all that raw has brought to my life.
