Ooh, ooh! I'm veeery interested in this! Especially if anyone has a replacement idea to dying eggs. I've thought about painting thai coconuts, but the thought of the coconut being dipped in chemicals makes me not want to touch it with the plastic removed. I'm so picky. Maybe try making fruit leathers by piping different colored fruit mixtures together to make cute shapes... for an egg banana with a tad of lemon juice (to reduce oxidation) for the white, then strawberries, blueberries, peaches, etc can make decorations. I might actually do that, now that I think about it.

Easter is one of my fav holidays, because for me it has always been Edible Arts-and-Crafts Day. :p

Get some bunny shaped cookie cutters, which can then be used to make raw cookies, flax crackers, pizza, etc. Or you could decorate some mangosteen fruit, which are slightly larger than eggs and have a resilient rind. I wasn't aware that there are any special dishes for Easter, besides eggs, chocolate or otherwise.

I'm going to be buying some of those decorative wooden eggs (http://www.amazon.com/Darice-Decorative-Wood-Eggs/dp/B002766WAC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1269774189&sr=8-9) from the craft store and painting them with DS instead of dying real eggs. I wish I had thought of this idea years ago. It would have been great to do one each year. Never too late to start a tradition though. They can sit in a wire basket as decoration or they can be used in an Easter egg hunt and then traded in for snack, treats, privileges or other small trinkets.

This probably is not what you are thinking, but one Easter my grandmother took a nice orange and taped paper ears, googley eyes, mini pom-poms for nose and such, and paper whiskers to make a really cute little Easter gift for me. I'll attach a picture. The picture isn't too good but its the only one I could find on my computer. I remember thinking how cute an idea this was and really appreciating her creativity and the fact that she would take the time to make such a thing!

Oh great ideas!!! I'm not exactly the crafty type so any little tips, etc., always helps!

I'm interested in this as well! My family will sometimes try my food, if it doesn't look too "foreign." I was thinking of a raw version of some sort of fruit pie with mock jelly beans or something like that? We should create our own!
