Has anyone used this product? I came across it in the raw section of my health food store and am thinking of buying it. I need to add more calories, so was thinking of adding a scoop to my morning smoothie, and maybe another later on. I was originally thinking of getting the vega powder, even though I know it is not raw because 1 serving is 2-300cals and a few a day would add calories easier than more food.

Don't get me wrong - I eat alot of food and tons of nuts/seeds/oils/avocados plus greens/veg and many bananas. I am breastfeeding and my guy is going through a growth spurt - and he is a big 4-month old! Anyway, I find if I do not eat enough my milk suffers and even though I believe in getting all I need from whole food, this could really help up the cals - especially since I am really eating alot!

If anyone has any suggestions or has used this product, please advise!
:)

Why do you need extra protein. This is not a complete food and your body is not going to find it easy to deal with it.

It isn't the protein necessarily - it is a raw meal replacement so is technically meant to be eaten alone. But it has good stuff in it plus the extra cals, so I was hoping I could add a scoop in my green smoothies to get that extra energy and keep my milk production from lowering.

This is the product:

Many say they like it. I haven't tried it yet. Smart of you to figure out about Vega.

I'd say if you have the money, then It's probably worth it.

My wife and I are on a tight budget, and have been using raw hemp protein which has helped us vastly curb cravings later in the day.

Dr. Cousens talks about using it with his patients for the same use. Lots of amino acids, and a complete protein.

27 bucks for 3 pounds! free shipping too. Super worth it.

I second the hemp powder suggestion!

I've not tried the protein powders, not really my thing, but I'm not in your situation. You are right to up your calorific intake when breastfeeding, especially when the baby is going through a growth spurt.

Hope whatever you try works well for you. :)

I have read that Sun Warrior Rice Protein is the best (but I do not think that any of them should be taken).
A recent report states that they have discovered that reducing your protein has the same effect of life extension as Calorie Restriction.

Thank you for the link. We were considering this but wondered about the taste or if it was worth it. According to the review, it might not taste very good and might be a waste of money. Thank you for the heads up.

We use it and like it very well. We had been using SunWarrior Protein, but we seem to like the variety better that Garden of Life puts in their Raw Protein.
