Bad news - I have 2 canka(sp?) sores under my tongue and they are really bothering me! I am not sure what I ate that has caused them, maybe detox! Does anyone have a remedy for this?
Good news - My husband bought me a diamond ring this past Jan. and I was wearing it just fine for 3 months and all of a sudden I could not wear it for more than a few hours without getting horrible excema from it! I was so disappointed because I really love it. Well I decided to put it on when I left for Az. for one day and I have not taken it off since...it has been 4 days! I am so happy and I know that it's because I have been raw for almost 30 days!
Just a note - if my friend in California is reading this - Ciao to you, nice chatting with you yesterday!

Rawma, any sore is always the body's attempt to heal itself (detox) no matter what the person is eating. That said, I have a friend who cannot eat walnuts because she always gets mouth sores after eating them. She says it is some acid that they contain. Rinse your mouth frequently with peroxide. It kills the bacteria that cause the pain, and it also promotes healing. Also you can drink more than the usual amount of water to help flush your system.

Thanks Teri, I will try the peroxide. I knew there was a rememdy but I couldn't remember what it was. I have been downing water too! I did consume alot of nuts this weekend because I flew to AZ. in one day and back and I brought a bag of homemade trail mix to eat on the plane as well as fruits...good thing cuz' there was nothing else to eat!
Thanks again,
Lisa

Lisa,
I get the same thing when my wife starts experimenting with cider vinegar. I really enjoy what she creates, but I can pay for it with a couple of days of pain...
It's strange, because I never got these from eating horseradish or anything like that...
Oh well....I'll have to try that Peroxide trick...
Thanks all!

Okay, here's a remedy my grandmother had us do when we were kids. I used to get canka sores all the time. It is very unRaw though. We would put a plain asprin (not buffered) on the sore and let it desolve. By the time the asprin desolved the canka sore had caved in. It was amazing.

If you can get your hands on some l-glutamine powder, it is pretty affective for promoting the healing of mucosal tissue. (daily dose 'cured' ulcer patients in a well known study, l-glutamine is the amino acids used by our mucosal cells as fuel for growth.)
I keep a bottle of Intestinew, my company's l-glutamine powder on hand for mouth ulcers, but any kind will do. And if you prefer to get it direct from the veggie it is sourced from, try cabbage juice! Swish it, and then swallow.
Good luck.

This home remedy always works for me: dissolve Himalayan salt in very warm water, and gargle many times throughout the day (including right before going to sleep).
