Hello everyone! My name is Neysa (Pronouced Niss-Uh). I'm from Oregon in the U.S. and I'm going to be kicking off my raw food diet on June 1st of this year. I'm only 16, but I've been overweight almost my whole life.

I want to be healthy and feel better. Lately I've been very negative, but I saw this inspiring man on Youtube named ShayCarl who had started a raw diet for 20 days. He lost a lot of weight.

I do have a few questions but I will post them in the discussion section. I can't wait to see who all ya'll are! Thanks! :D

Welcome Neysa,

First off, I love Oregonian people, very down to earth folks:). I was going to suggest: don't wait, do it now! - but perhaps you are public school:eek: and you'd like to wait for the holidays?
The benefits of eating raw go way beyond losing weight. It's important not to lose sight of that fact or make it the goal, weight loss is just one side effect.
We can't wait for those questions, either:D

Yeah, I go to public school so it's kind of hard to go completely raw during the school year. I'm thinking next tuesday of going 80% raw. Tomorrow I'm going to be picking out some new fruit and veggies to try out since it's grocery shopping day. then after I know what I like I'll get more.

In the summer it'll be easier to exercise also.
What do you think?

I think it's wonderful, 80% raw is a great improvement over 10% raw (which seems to be average for everyone else). Step by step works for some, though Alissa recommends going straight to 100%

I know your heart is in the right place, & there are plenty of spelling mistakes elsewhere here, but "success" is one word I can't bear to see misspelled:o. I wish you all the success in the world editing it. Others who have had great success I know would agree. And Cathy, thank you for participating & making this forum a great success.;):D
