as i read in the forum i've noticed some people put their dehydrated stuff in the refrigerator and some in the freezer. i've been putting the dehydrated items in glass jars and leaving on my counter. so now i'm thinking about specific categories:
breads and cookies: need to be refrigerated?
fruit leathers: okay on counter?
chips (kale, cucumber, sweet potato . . . ): on counter?
flax crackers: on counter?
dehydrated fruit and veggies: on counter?
dehydrated nuts after they've been sprouted: freezer or counter?
dehydrated cheeses? in refrigerator or on counter?
am i missing a major category?
is there a rule of thumb to know if i need to refrigerate, freeze or leave on counter?
counter, freezer, or refrigerator
Here's what I do with mine:
breads and cookies: need to be refrigerated? I refrigerate all my breads and cookiesfruit leathers: okay on counter?
chips (kale, cucumber, sweet potato . . . ): on counter? I leave my kale chips in the cupboardflax crackers: on counter? yes, on counter
dehydrated fruit and veggies: on counter? I put my deh. fruits in the fridge (I have a second fridge, so I have the space). Deh. tomatoes I keep in the cupboard. But if there's any doubt, I'll refrigerate or freeze.
dehydrated nuts after they've been sprouted: freezer or counter? I store deh. nuts and seeds in fridge. Before I deh. them - they all get stored in the freezer. Deh. buckwheat and oats I store in the cupboard.
dehydrated cheeses? in refrigerator or on counter? I haven't made this, so I don't know..am i missing a major category?

yo girlfriend, thanks for your quick reply. there is sooooo much to learn. sometimes i think i know what i'm doing them bam! i hit the wall and find i made a left turn instead of a right! i appreciate your wisdom.
now that i have my dehydrator going all the time, i think i'll delve into sprouting next:)
If I can help you with sprouting, just let me know! I've always got a jar or 2 of alfalfa-red clover going and a tray of sunflower greens growing! I love having sprouts! *Ü*

I don't have tons of fridge space so I put dehydrated items in the cupboard or counter! I put cookies in the freezer though - cuz I like them better frozen. I also put flax and hemp seeds in the freezer.
Sprouting is great - I have buckwheat going right now. Should get some sunflower sprouts on though! :)
