Hello I am a newcomer to this forum. I am attempting to go on a 100 day raw diet starting Monday, March 22nd. I have started a blog to detail my journey. I intend to document my journey through posts, videos, and pictures. I wish to review recipes and books. I just want something to hold myself accountable, and to help others along the way. I want to encourage people to do the 100 days with me (if they aren't already 100% raw).
I can relate to that being a vegan, now a hopeful raw vegan, living in Wisconsin. I have come to this lifestyle after my Fiance became very sick. He had psoriasis covering his entire body. We did not want to use the harmful meds available, so we opted to treat his disease with nourishment. We were raw for one week, then switched to a 50% raw/vegan diet. He was clear within two months.
After this life changing event, I have felt the burning need to do something. I want to help others find their health and happiness, including me! I have seen first hand the unbelievable power of raw and living foods and I hope to take it to the next level with this journey. I hope to participate in these message boards often and make some new raw friends! I hope you all come to the blog frequently and let me know what you think!
health and love,
Molly

thanks for the warm welcome. I am so nervous. Despite wanting this so badly, I always fail after two or three days in. I just feel like this lifestyle is what has been missing from my life. My low energy, low self-esteem and weight issues are further perpetuated by the SAD diet. That is why I started my blog. I really want to keep up on it, because I hope it will fuel my motivation during times I want to give up. AND I just realized this forum is based through Alissa, whom I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I accidentally purchased her book (on amazon) last year and it really impacted my life. I will be heavily relying on her book over the next 100 days that is for sure! The next few days will be preparation for the big start on Monday!

Molly,
Please feel free to share you blog address in your signature line. ;) And share your story here. We prefer to have a 'hard copy' for our archives rather than links which can become obsolete over time.
Welcome!

Welcome! Don't be nervious. Raw is meant to enjoy and if you are afraid of failing..don't be. You can always ease into things. I first started with raw breakfast every day. Then I started adding in lunch which was mostly raw with a little SAD. Snacks were basically raw except for my coffee in which I still drink. Dinner raw. Now I'm 90% raw and I feel great. My skin cleared up and I don't have those dreaded afternoon drowsies anymore! Some days I'm more close to 100% raw and others just hitting around 90%. No big deal for me because I'm reaping the benefits. Try to make this a fun journey and do not overwhelm yourself with complex recipes at first. My mistake the first time around. :)

Thanks for the advice! It can get very overwhelming, and I am now starting to see the need to simplify!
