Does anyone know some st. patrick's day themed raw recipes. I'm going to have a green smoothie :-P but apart from that, what are some other green types of foods. Or green deserts. This is my first Raw St. Patrick's day and I don't know what to do!

It's my second, and I'm bummed!

Usually - I boil up a big pot of potato, cabbage, and carrots, each plate I chop up the cabbage into little pieces and mash up the potatoes and carrots, top it off with the cabbage broth mixed with vegan butter and soy sauce.

then eat nothing else for 2 days and watch "the quiet man" that was my Irish routine!

I got nothing to sub, maybe a coleslaw?

Coleslaw sounds great! "The Irish Man" is one of my favorites. My other favorite is "Donavan's Reef". Not Irish, just classic John Wayne. :)

I'm making a big kale/cabbage/waldorf type of slaw. It will last at least 2 days, maybe longer. It gets better after marinating in the dressing. Lots of thin sliced shreds of dino kale and green cabbage with grated carrots, chopped apples, celery, walnuts, and raisins. Chunks of pineapple would be nice for more sweetness. I'll probably stick with adding more of what I have in the house; sunflower seeds, radishes, red pepper, red onion and cucumber, and zucchini.

I made the dressing last night. Ground sesame seeds (tahini would do), lemon juice, ACV, honey, garlic, ginger, sea salt, water, sesame oil, and olive oil.

What about that lemon/avocado pudding in Alissa's book..she even states that if you don't see the green color it taste just like lemon pudding. In this case the green color would be perfect.
I second the coleslaw thing, perfect for the occasion.
I made one the other day that was awesome, from Gritsnla

Good Coleslaw

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I made two types of coleslaw; one creamy and one with sweet/sour. They were both pretty good, but when I mixed them all together, wow, way better! I think you'll like it. Veggie measurements are estimated.

shredded cabbage 3-4 c. (I used a pre-shredded pkg)
shredded carrots 2 c.

dressing
mix together:
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoon agave
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil

avocado mayonnaise
1 medium or large avocado
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/4 t. salt or to taste
Pinch of cayenne pepper
1/4 C. olive oil

Wash the avocado and cut it in half. Scoop out the flesh and put it into the blender. Add lemon juice, salt, and cayenne pepper and blend together.
With machine running, add vegetable oil slowly. You many have to stop the machine several times to redistribute ingredients. Puree to a smooth creamy mixture. Makes 3/4 cup .

Mix it all together and let it sit in the fridge until supper time - delish!
After placing on plate, sprinkle with sunflower seeds.

the avocado mayo is so good..
