I keep mine in the freezer.
Ordered some in December, are they still good?
How long do you keep your nuts?
Help, help, help!

Most likely they're still good.

Nuts stay fresh for a very long time in the freezer. Likely more than a year(s). The refrigerator keeps them fresh for quite awhile too.

What???

Nuts go bad?

I keep mine on the counter in jars. Some I've had since October.

Are they okay to use??? yikes!

If they were in the freezer, I almost guarantee they're good. That's where I keep mine too, and they're always super fresh.
At room temperature though... I'd do a taste test. Usually, they will last 1 month at room temperature, 3-4 months in the fridge (although I don't usually keep them in the fridge), and about 6 months in the freezer.

Then why do they sell them in the bulk bins??? I can't imagine they get replaced by fresh nuts constantly.

I'm so confused on this. I think I may be eating "bad" nuts. ?

Health stores are notorious for keeping items in stock long past their shelf-life. They do this with personal care & beauty products as well. Not to mention most of the nuts aren't truly raw anyhow. However, normally the stores are kept cold enough to at least be considered close to refrigerator temperature.

I started off buying nuts & seeds in the bulk bins at our local grocery store. I didn't know that they didn't taste so good until I started ordering from Azure Standard - their nuts and seeds are so much better tasting. *Ü*

I have had cashews tasting a bit funny so I always keep them in the fridge or freezer. I actually get mine in a big box about 25 lbs so they need to be kept cold. They are fine for a long time if kept that way.

If you want to keep a few on the counter, maybe just make sure you don't keep it at room temp for more than a week, I'd say.
