Hi raw friends! My mother wanted me to ask you something. She just got over something like a flu or bronchitis (doesn't go to the doctor so I don't know exactly), but I think she either damaged her eardrum from blowing her nose or has some type of infection or both. It hurts when she blows her nose, the pain keeps her up at night, and it hurts in her sinuses and jaw and above her eye on the opposite side and feels like they are packed full of 'something'. She said yesterday it was somewhat better, but today it is worse. I guess because of drainage during the night. She asked me what she could do naturally to get rid of an infection or whatever it is. She is not raw now, but has dabbled in it and wants to again, but isn't at the moment. I told her to juice, but...

Grapefruit seed extract and other anti viral, anti bacterial things. Garlic, eaten and even wrapped and placed in her ear.
If it was me - I would go to my doctor. My son let his sinus infection go and he ended up having an MRI. His sinuses were SO infected and packed full, he was in terrible pain. Even with antibiotics, it took a long time to clear up.
I wish her well! *Ü*

for ear pain we always make a tincture of garlic and olive oil on the stove... let it cool and then put a few drops in the ear. do it as often as you feel it needs. works like a charm!

I've been doing similar to what Aleesha has done for 13 years now ... I chop a clove of garlic and place it in warmed olive oil with some mullein leaves and let it steep. When cooled enough to not burn, I fill the ear with the oil (strained of the plant materials) and put cotton in it. Change a few times a day.
The garlic is anti-viral (anti-microbial actually). The mullein encourages the eustachian tubes to open up to allow for proper drainage. The warmed olive oil helps with pain and also has some infection fighting properties all its own and fully absorbs into the ear.
It hasn't mattered how bad the *ear* infection was, this has always knocked it out.
For sinus infections I use the Neti Pot. I cannot say enough great things about the neti pot. Keeps my sinuses clear!
