I originally was going to use them for the rawritos recipe but realized that they needed to be sprouted, and I haven't learned how to do that yet. Nor do I have a jar. so I have soaked sunflower seeds- aprox 2 cups.. what do I do with them? I made a "tuna salad" before and it didn't taste very good. hayelp!

Sunny Pate!! :) I forget what page the recepie is on but I loved it. Made a bunch and used it as "meat" balls for pasta, I have filled avocados on the half shell with it, used it as a filling for romaine leaves and even as a dip for celery and carrots......

Geesh - I forgot how much I liked that stuff :)

I think you'd still be able to use those in the recipe. doesnt "sprouted" mean "soaked for a long time" usually??

jenna- not sure??? I thought it meant soaked and rinsed lots and starting to... well sprout.

I think taco meat wins today because I'm out of a lot of other stuff too, and I have romaine hearts that need to be eaten! thanks!

I'll try the other sfor sure though! I'm sad that I have these, because I really wanted to eat my kelp noodles for lunch instead LOL

I can help out a bit with the 'sprouted' question. I soak my sunflower seeds overnight and then drain and actually sprout them - they will grow a tail. I don't let the tail get too long though - about 1/2 the size of the s.f. seed. Then I dehydrate them so they're all ready to go for recipes. I store them in the fridge even after they've been dehydrated.

I do this with all my sunflower seeds - I sprout and dehydrate for all recipes.

You might like to watch this video, that's where I learned to do this. Before this, I never knew about sprouting sunflower seeds:
