I'm not enjoying my decision to stop my fast at all. I wasn't really ready to end my fast and my breaking is not going well. I don't feel good about this decision so I've decided to start another fast. Not sure how long I'll go... perhaps just a few days, or maybe a couple of weeks... we'll see how it goes.
I may even fast for a week and eat for a week and then fast again. Who knows. All I know in this moment is that I want to fast again.
So... starting tomorrow - I am going to be fasting again. *whew* You have no idea how freeing that feels.
I'll be posting here. I welcome anyone who wants to post in this thread, the only thing I ask is that we don't discuss food in this thread. It's nice to have a break from hearing about food. ;)
So... here I go again!

Woohoo! Nice to see you back. I've just finished day 5 of my detox, and I've had quite a ride, I tell you! This is the first time I've really enjoyed fasting; I feel so hopeful! March 7 has just ended here, so I'll be a whole day ahead of you. Cheers! :)

Aleesha, glad you are in a good fasting mood.
I read that sweating helps with getting rid of headache. I visited my gym's steam room today. I have had a very very mild headache these two days. I HOPE it is detox. I have been raw for 3 months and have not yet had an obvious detox symptom. It is not that I like to suffer detox. But I am hoping weight loss will follow detox. I am 15 pounds overweight and have not yet lost one pound these three months.
Do you have web articles on GS at hand? I already read Green For Life. I am searching for some information on GS to add incentives to my GS fast.

i'm happily off to bed... to bliss out and start another gorgeous fast-filled day!

joyce, I believe there is a thread on this forum of many green smoothie recipes. Also, you could pose any questions in the general discussion--I've found people to be really helpful.
Aleesha, I WISH you could be here enjoying a fresh young coconut from the tree, sitting under palm trees and watching the fireflies. Many warm, turquoise water wishes to you!!! After reading your post about parasites and garlic, I'm now eating 3 cloves a day...Good thing I'm on an isolated island! :p
Peace and love to you...OMG, I'm already sounding like a hippie!

Dear Aleesha, thank you so much for starting these wonderful fasting threads! Now you inspired me too and I am happily fasting since Saturday. What a clarity of mind, eh? Can you feel it too? Hope you enjoy it as much as I do :) Also, thanks for reminding me how much fun it is taking care of myself. You are beautiful.

To celebrate the breaking of my juice fast.....I made some watermellon juice. :p He he. Moral of the story...you may have not seen the end of me.
Aleesha-I now know why you are addicted to fasting. It's a hards to quit, when its just sooooo good.
Joyce--Glad to see that you have popped over here too. You will feel better. You will feel better. Sending you positive thought and energy!!!
Happy fasting day. Love and positive energy being sent to all.

joyce i can totally hook you up with the 70 green smoothie thread (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=54452) here... just don't have anything on the net to recommend is all.
not sure if i'm detoxing or finishing up a cold... i'm a little sniffly this morning but a day in the rock shop (where i work) should fix me up nicely. playing with crystals all day long is a fun thing to do indeed!
i'll be taking the water of 4 young coconuts with me and a frozen juice (i think it's a beet blend)... i have another frozen juice thawing in the fridge for tomorrow and then i think i'll do water and coconut water for the week... see how it goes.
i've started adding a stone (kyanite or citrine) to my water to make an elixir. anyone else do this? i'm going to bring a bigger piece of citrine home from work to put into my brita on a glass dish (cause you don't want it touching plastic)... so i'll have the elixir ready all the time. add a new little twist to my fasting. bike are doing this with you at your retreat?
cathy, i prefer the way i feel when i fast. pure and simple. chewing food isn't something i'm addicted to anymore. i like to do it once in a while, but i'm not like i was 3 years ago where it's all i thought about. i find that with all the extra energy i have from not thinking about what to eat next, i have more time to meditate, spend in my sauna or bath... going for a quiet walk etc. i feel like my days have 2 or 3 more hours to them now. when i'm eating... i feel so rushed and like i have no time for anything. weird eh?
fresh it's always a pleasure to fast with you! (((hugs)))

Bike and Aleesha, Thanks. Yes I knew of the 70 green smoothies thread. I was just trying to get information on the benefits of GS so that I would be more motivated on staying on GS fast (versus eating all kinds of raw dishes). But I guess trying out different GS recipes will help preventing me from feeling bored with GS alone.
Cathy, glad that you came over to this thread to greet everyone. Give us a report of the health benefits you have reaped from your most recent juice fast when you have time.

Aleesha, that is an encouraging testimony to fasting. I hope I will reach that stage. I do miss chewing from time to time on my present GS fast. So I try to thicken my GS with more solid fruits.

Agree with Aleesha, it is amazing how much more time you have when you fast. Agree also that it is nice to not be obsessed about what I'm going to eat. I juiced today. Just seemed to be what I wanted. Now last night...I could have eaten the door knob. (My monthly visiter came this morning) In my old way of eating....I was very much addicted to food. It is something that I feel shameful about. It was out of control. Lots of bing eating. That sick kind of eating where you are thinking about what you "get" to eat next while you are shoveling food into your mouth almost breathlessly. I was kind of a mess up until about three years ago. I smoked about three packs of cigaretts a day. I spent my evenings at the bar having "big fun" with my "friends" who never gave me crap about drinking at least a six pack and puffing away like a chiminey. I felt like death. Every day was a struggle. Getting out of bed was an absolute chore. I was that unpleasant person that people don't want to be around. One day I just had enough. I quit smoking and put on 15lbs in one month. So I thought I'd give up beer for awhile. Skip those six beers...thats 600 calories. I loved to eat. So I wasn't going to give up food. Some how I made the connection about sugar. So that went to the wayside too. Anyway...to make a long story shorter....I made my way to the master cleanse. Once I finally made it through the first full MC, I went raw. That was last summer. So it has been a long road. I have learned a lot. The most important thing being that I do not and could not go back to that old tired out life. I've had some bumps in the road. (candida and some bad advice on getting rid of it) It has been a beautiful journey though. Life is more joyful on this path and this extended fast has brought even more happiness than I could have ever imagined. Well...here I am being Chatty Cathy again. Thanks for indulging me in my longwinded post.
Happy fasting to all and to all a good night.:)

had a great day of fasting. ended up putting some citrine and rainbow flourite in my water... i also wore a double terminated apophyllite pendant all day - so i'm feeling better but i realize i have a head cold... not detox.
i've had one litre of fruit juice (cantaloupe, mango, pineapple, apple... ) and 2 litres of coconut water with 2 litres of elixir water (mentioned above)...
not sure if i'll have anything else, i just got home from work, had a bath, then a sauna and now i'm chillin' on the couch...

Aleesha, I hadn't heard of it before, but I asked Leeann, the owner, about crystals in water, and she said she does it with all the water she serves! I had no idea! She puts manganese, but you can use many different kinds of crystals. She likes it so much, she plans to make a system of a crystal in the bottom of the water jug, joined to an ascending coil of copper which goes to the top, and put in the sun for harmonious energy. She uses water from a spring on the island. Also, she mentioned how visualizing the structure of the water, and being grateful for all its benefits to your body as you drink, can increase vibrations.
Cathy, I love that story and that you were able to heal yourself. Are you full of energy now?
joyce, you can always read about the benefits of greens...they are the building blocks of all life.
I'm feeling okay, still sick, but I released a lot of gas with my colonic today, so I don't have such extreme pain when I do it. I'm getting little bits of yellow jelly with thin, green, 1-2mm long lines embedded in them...could that be worms?
Fast on, sisters, fast on!!! ;)

HAHAHAHAHHA!
I am so happy I can just scream and giggle.
1) I am now no longer a probationary employee so I can start thinking about making some roots (buying a condo)
2) Back to juice fasting, and as usual the raw diet/juiceing/GS, has kept my hematocrit up in the high normal range. The phlembotomist (sp) was surprised to learn that I am a juicer/raw foodest.
3) The same phlembotamist (sp) when checking my ID remarked about how I dont look the same as my ID photo (i was 30 lbs heavier). She further marked how I look much younger TODAY as opposed to my picture. Despite being taking two years ago, I looked older when I was actually younger!
So Life is really really good here!
Blessings to all!

border it's GREAT to be fasting with you again. (((hugs))) yip yip yipppppeeeeee congrats on your job, that is great news!!!
i didn't have a great night. lots of sweating, taking off clothes, putting them back on... i'm fortunate that i don't have to work today. i can work another day this week instead... so i'm staying on the couch, in the tub and in the sauna today to assist my body to gain health!
i'll be doing lots of young coconut water... and i have a beet blend defrosted in the fridge, so i'll do that as well. other than that... perhaps some yummy 'love' tea...
oh and i've decided i'm not counting days on this fast. AND i'm not weighing myself till i'm done. i'm just going to live in the moment, bask in the beauty of it and enjoy... totally enjoy this fast.
ahhhhhh i feel so bliss-filled even though i'm sick... how amazing is that!

joyce, you can always read about the benefits of greens...they are the building blocks of all life.
Yes that is correct. Acutally my morning ph reading reaches 7 nowadays, first time in years, primarily due to greens. But I drank massive amount of wheatgrass juice the last week of Feb. (about 10 oz. a day). Now I expect this good ph reading to do something for my health and weight loss
Now I am tired of spending so much time juicing wheatgrass so I am taking a wheatgrass break. But the benefits of wheatgrass juice inspired me to drink more greens. So now the first thing on the morning I drink several oz. of blended greens harvested from my backyard garden , before I am fully awakened and don't really taste that intense green taste. LOL. Then I feel free to make delicious GS using as little greens as I like.
Cathy, Thanks for sharing your very personal journey. I am very happy for you that you have found the RAW way to health. I wish you wholeness in every aspect of your life.
Aleesha, you are so blessed to have a sauna at home. I am content with my steamroom at my gym though: My gym’s steamroom is wonderful and few ladies utilize it.

Aleesha,
Do you use young thai coconuts when you fast? Do you freeze the meat? Also, I will be joining in for a mini fast until until the 14th which is my bday party and continue juicing until passover to celebrate with my husbands family.
Feel horrible and depressed lately and I'm sure these xtra 15 lbs isn't helping.
Thanks!!!

liz have you read any of my posts? i do HUGE amounts of young coconuts... it's my favourite "fast food" while fasting... plus it's soooooo nutritious!
i freeze the meat once in a while, hubby uses it sometimes but most times it gets thrown away. i go through 2-4 young coconuts a day so it's a lot of meat to store (if i stored it).

Hi Aleesha,
I am actually a huge lurker of all your posts, but Cocunuts are so expensive where I live( $4.00 )that I thought maybe I missed something. Do I just drink the juice and freeze the meat in freezer bags. Too expensive for me to throw away. Thanks for your reply and i'll be on board tomorrow.

absolutely you can freeze it in freezer bags. IF you are doing a smoothie fast, you can blend it in with your coconut water and mmm mmmm gooooooood... it's like egg nog only much better. i add a dash of cinnamon to it and loooove it!
try asking at your local market if you can buy a case... that's what i do. picked up two cases today at $16.10 a case. i get them anywhere from $13 a case to $19.50 depending on cost at the time. (9 in a case)
just enjoying some elixir water right now... had a nice sauna... and am relaxing on the couch.

Young coconut meat makes excellent hair treatment...we use it at Malapacao all the time. There are 2 methods:
1. Blend 2 parts coconut meat with 1 part water in a blender. Let sit for 1-2 days, until the solids have risen to the top. Skim the solids with a spoon, and stir the rest. Voila, you have coconut cream!
2. Put coconut solids through your Champion juicer. The liquid that comes out is coconut cream, and the rest is basically shredded coconut, which you can dehydrate or discard.
Here, we use about 1/2-3/4 cup of cream for my hair, which is thick and very long. Work the cream into your hair, then cover with a towel (do this on a day you're not working, or leave in overnight). After 4-5 hours (or as long as you can stand), remove the towel and put hair in ponytail. When dry, rinse out in your next shower.
I thought it would feel greasy and goopy, but it's really nice and makes your hair shiny. Enjoy!

I am feeling amazingly goddess like today. Like the woman in me is totally taken over. SEXY. And....I am on my cycle. This is increadable. I've NEVER felt like this at this time of the month. I think this is probably the way a woman SHOULD feel at this time. I usually feel like I did when I was at my heaviest weight (211lbs). However right now, at this very moment, my inner goddess is beaming outward. I am blessed.

Aleesha, where are you feeling sick? Stuffy head or nauseous or both?
In some strange act of the gods, I managed to put on almost 3 pounds since yesterday. How is this possible while fasting? I also had a hugely tumultuous sleep, woke up numerous times feeling hot. But I no longer feel sick, per se. Just crappy...so that's an improvement LOL! :p
Be grateful today, girls! :)

putting on weight while fasting:
it's amazing how we can retain water while fasting. did you know one litre (one quart) of water is 2 pounds!!! not much to retain that much really...
i'm not nauseated at all. just a head cold... feeling like myself again though... went out for a nice drive this afternoon to get out of the house.
cathy... enjoy your journey!
stopped at my local juice bar for a litre of OJ today. what a nice treat. my fluid level is pretty low to be honest... so my body was probably thrilled. :P

Bye Cathy! Feel free to lurk. :)
Aleesha, I asked around, and the absolute best remedy out there for a head cold/congestion is fresh ginger. You can make a hot tea with honey and lemon, or make a poultice and put it over your lungs to suck out the germy gunk.
Another major revelation today, this one spiritual. Beginning to understand my family of origin, and my own capability for self-love. I started seeking out more understanding because in spite of twice-daily colonics, my system felt blocked. Now I get that emotions can be pent up in physical obstructions...both must be released for healing.
Just another revelatory day of fasting!
Aleesha Sattva
03-11-2010, 09:43 AM
I have a friend who administers colonics. She said that when a client comes in and it's not working... she gets them to discuss what's happening emotionally in their life. Almost 100% of the time, the colonic opens up and works.
So ya, think about in your normal daily life. When you get upset (which is 2nd chakra - orange) you shut down... you close up tight. Hence why orange is such an emotional colour for most people. Keeping citrine with you is a great idea. I find it works really well on both the 2nd and 3rd chakras for opening and cleansing.
Of course, kyanite is super amazing for chakra work and could be kept with you at all times to assist as well. ;)
I'm doing much better. My smell is still nil and my voice is interesting... but I'm feeling way better!
bikediva
03-11-2010, 12:50 PM
Yes, I have been up multiple times tonight, releasing. Also, I have a paste of garlic and apple cider vinegar on the soles of my feet overnight (covered by 2 layers) to draw out toxins...apparently the feet have the greatest lymph access of anywhere on the body?!
Not done chakra work yet...I used to have a crazy neighbour who was a Hare Krishna, and he used to come over and rant about his chakras, so I think that really turned me off...That said, at this point, I'm willing to try anything to get better. :D
I feel grateful I'm gaining such insight at such a young age.

oh well... gives me more time for meditation!
sippin' on some yogi tea with ginger in it. mmmm relaxing the voice and chillin' out!

03-12-2010, 04:34 AM
;)Maybe it's your body's way of suggesting a silent retreat...
Seems like almost daily a new kind of parasite comes out (although none as thrilling as the earthworms!). I mean, my body was a DUMP! After some emotional release work last night, my colon feels less bloated and I can feel my colonic reaching the entire large intestine. Progress!
So today was day 10 for me. It has flown by. Maybe because the programme is so intense. I do 2 bentonite/goji/psyllium shakes a day (the full programme is 4:eek:) and 3 green drinks with licorice, buko juice, rejuvelac, spirulina and an apple cider vinegar chaser.
If you're wondering what buko juice is...it's the Philippino name for young coconut! So now you can say you drank 2 buko today! ;)

Been snooping. Interesting that you have been discussing the emotion/poo conection. This morning I passed a huge amount of mucus. First thing I thought was "Wow, no wonder I was so crabby yesterday." When ever I have an "angry" day....I seem to pass some interesting eliminations the next.
Bike I think what you are going through right now is so wonderful. You are right. You are lucky to be recieving such a powerful gift at such a young age. I am happy that your process is helping you to release so much. Both physically and mentally.
Aleesha be well soon.

Have you ever heard of iridology? Facsinating. Leeann was showing me the blurry brown line around my iris and another around my pupil. Also, when you look close in a picture, lots of grey spots, enlarged and double veins, damage spots in the iris. Most amazingly, she showed me her eyes, and they were perfectly round and clear. Not fuzzy like mine.
I feel much better today, too. Had a great sleep. Bring it on. And I've lost over 20 pounds now.

Good for you getting back on the wagon. How do you get coconut water? I have only heard of coconut milk. Is it the same thing? May I ask how much coconut water/juice you will go through in a day?
This is my day 2 and I feel crappy. but it has been a long time since I fasted so I have alot of detoxing to do.
Happy fasting.

Coconut water is straight from a young thai coconut. When you buy them in the market they are wrapped in plastic and white. You don't remove the plastic but just cut off the top and drink the water inside. I go through 2 - 6 of them a day. Hubby is picking me up another 2 cases today ;)
If you are doing a blended feast (like Joyce) you can add the meat from inside the young coconut with the water in the blender and make it into a super yummy version of egg nog. I add a little cinnamon and looooooove this treat.
I am off to work - selling some stones. I have two juices in my cooler - parsley/apple/ginger and a fruit blend (mango, pineapple, apple, kiwi etc). Hubby said he'd bring me some coconut water later after he picks them up.
bike, so glad to hear those parasites are releasing and leaving your body. Are you still chewing on garlic daily?
bikediva
03-13-2010, 10:29 PM
Yup, still doing the garlic, although I haven't seen any parasites today. I have a feeling all the visible ones are pretty much gone...but according to iridology, I have parasites in my brain, my liver, and my thyroid. I can't imagine I'm gonna have a worm crawl out my ear one day! :)
I'm feeling winded today, like all I want to do is surf the net. Back home, this would be a day I would binge to feel numb and painfully full. I'm not used to having the blahs. Terrible sleep last night, tumultuous. I feel like I just need to roll with this for a few days--no more spiritual epiphanies! Oh, and my colemas now are virtually effortless! ;)
skunji, I find the first 4 days are the worst. Eventually, you get to a point when fasting is really easy and natural.
Aleesha Sattva
03-13-2010, 10:32 PM
having a blah day is part of fasting... you have to embrace them in order to fast for any period of time... cause it's not all 'ups' there are 'downs'.
feeling healthier today which pleases me greatly :)

i know you mentioned this a few days ago but i've been thinking about it and i thought i'd share my thoughts here...
a silent retreat is something i would love to do one day. no communication of any sort... just silence and meditation. what a treat that would be. i can only imagine how weird it would be returning to normal life though.
years ago i did a series of (oh man what is this called?) ... i would get undressed and climb into this - what i can only describe as a water filled coffin. it was sound proof and you would get in and float... the water (filled with epsom salt so you float) and air were the same temp so you couldn't tell where the water ended and where the air began. it allowed all of your senses to rest.
anyways... i think i spent 45-60 minutes in this each time and we did a series of 10 or 20 sessions (it was years ago so i'm not sure of the numbers here...)
when we'd leave the facility... the sounds, smells and experiences were SOOOO intense. my boyfriend and i would usually go to a small coffee shop near the facility and it was amazing how much you could hear! just letting our hearing rest for a short period of time would intensify it so much...
can you imagine what it would be like to do a silent retreat for 10 days? to go into a place that is quiet and peace-filled. i would LOVE it, but i'm worried that returning to real life afterwards would be very very difficult. cause breaking that kind of a fast... you couldn't do it gently (at least i can't imagine how i could with kids and pets and life waiting for my return)... as it is, when i'm fasting i find it hard to tolerate the tv being on... i would sooooooo love to turn it off whenever i'm fasting - so if i was fasting from speech (and from that... sound)... i can't imagine how intolerant i'd be to my families activities.
so i think it's best i wait for that kind of a fast for when my kids are grown and moved away...
but i can totally see myself doing it one day... and doing it often!
okay, that's my weird post for tonight... i'm off to bed soon. still healing from this head cold but i'm almost totally healed now. ;) YIPPEEE for fasting!!!
(everyone around me has taken 10-14 days to heal from this... i'm pretty much healed in less than a week!)

I thought I'd share this... I was emailed by someone tonight who wanted to know why I started this thread instead of simply joining the thread that was already happening on the forum. (The March fasting thread)... this was my response:
The reason I start my own fasting threads is because I ask people to not discuss eating in the threads I start. I find that reading about specific food/eating/binging (discussing details) while fasting can cause people (myself included) to want to eat... or to start thinking obsessively about a particular food. It's the same reason I only watch recorded TV while fasting so I can fast-forward through all the commercials. When someone else starts the thread, it's up to them whether or not eating is discussed and since people were/are talking about eating in that thread I started my own thread and I don't even read the other one.
So... sorry if it upset you but honestly (I'm saying this with love so read it as that please)... I post for me, not to make other people happy. I am on the forum to assist myself to be raw, to assist myself to fast... if I'm able to inspire others while I'm keeping myself on track then YIPPEE... but it's not why I'm there.
So if anyone reading this thread wonders the same thing... why I start my own threads when I fast... well now you know the reason! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x87/recyclinggoddess/6.gif I'm here to assist myself... although I love assisting others... I'm here for me and I hope each and every one of you do the same. Be here for YOU and if other people gain some insight/wisdom/light because of your sharing then that's the icing on the cake!!!

If you go into nature to do your retreat it's not really silent at all. :) They recommend 24-48 hours here.
I've been feeling weak lately. I was sleeping well last night, then I woke up at 1am and I had a huge wet spot on the bed. I was like, did I pee?! Did some enema water leak out? Did I leave an open water bottle? Needless to say, I was completely grossed out, and itchy all over my lower body, so it took me a while to fall back asleep.
Not gonna lie, I'm getting impatient. I guess I thought, when I started to fast, that the first 30 pounds would be effortless because I'm so overweight. Not so.
Anyway, enough about that. From now on, I will focus only on other aspects of fasting, because the weight loss only stresses me out anyway. :o
I'm truly so grateful for this time, and that I have a forum to share it...no food talk involved!

Weird... I wonder what the liquid was. You know... it could have been an orgasm while you were sleeping. ???
Anyway... *long awkward pause*... I am so tired because of the time change. I need a bath and a sauna and so... I'm off! :)

Hahahaha! I like your explanation!!! :D You've given me my only laugh of the day!!!
Actually, after I pulled the sheets off, I noticed the mattress was not wet at all. So I asked the owner, Leeann, and she said it was night sweats. My body created a brief fever to move some parasites or heavy metal. Also, someone else said it could have been my system in shock with all the spiritual revelations I've had recently. Makes complete sense. :)
Also, I'm not feeling great either, so I told Leeann I needed a rest and wanted to sleep all day. She said that was perfect, and I don't need to take any more shakes or supplements today. So this programme is so intense, I'm having a 'break' by water fasting only! Hilarious! LOL
Enjoy your sauna/bath/relaxation. Just as important to detox mentally as physically!

hahahahahaha a water fast is a break for ya... that's too funny. it's a break for me as well... but only because i get too lazy to make any juice so i water fast on days i don't feel like making anything LOL
we are two peas in a oddly shaped pod!

I feel much better, having water fasted yesterday. It was so relaxing! I had wet sheets again this morning; maybe that means my brain parasites are being cooked as I sleep?!
I also realise that when I get obsessed with weight, there's something deep going on that I'm distracting myself from. Pretty simple. So I just need to have the courage to be still and ask myself what's up. :)
We did chakra balancing last night, and I must say I think it's hoaky. I mean, someone is holding a crystal; their subconscious can make it swing any way they want...Maybe after I'm here longer I'll learn to appreciate the "life" in crystals. I definitely understand they have beneficial vibrations, but to say a brown crystal has the same frequency as my brow seems...well...medieval. And I also don't get how it's that helpful, because "your throat chakra is closed" is something I knew already...
Another fabulous day! ;)

Aleesha, that is TOO FUNNY!!! I'm cracking up! :D I'll put a post in the "Other" area and maybe you and some others can help me understand the deal with crystals...I mean, I'm open, it just doesn't make any SENSE to me LOL!!! :)
I'm really grumpy right now because Leeann insists I go up to 4 shakes a day, which makes my intestines feel like a brick! I mean, that's 4 heaping spoons of psyllium husk, charcoal, bentonite, and ground goji a DAY! In addition to green drinks and supplements. She says the more shakes I do, the more I'll cleanse, but they just make me feel clogged. I felt great after a day on water.
I'm gonna do some research online on my own to see if I can convince myself of the need to take so many shakes. To be COMPLETELY HONEST, I'm mostly angry that there'll be no room for fat and toxins to leave if I'm constantly jammed with supplements. And I haven't seen any parasites for a few days. But I spent 2 hours doing a colonic this morning because black stuff just kept coming...
FYI, my throat chakra on my back was not open at all. ;)

well this is a raw food forum... not a crystal forum so perhaps doing some research on the net may bring you more understanding of crystals than posting here... ;)

Yeah, I'm really trying hard to listen to everything and apply it, but I just can't do that much. I'm SO bloated right now. I feel like I just want to do water, with 2 "shakes" of 1 T bentonite and 2t psyllium a day. I'll take supplements, too. I feel irritated and dizzy right now. Not myself at all.
Thanks for the support. :) And I certainly did not mean any offense about the crystals...I just don't understand, and that frustrates me. :(
Take care, and fast on!!! :D

03-16-2010, 10:28 AM
oh i don't take any offence at all bike... no worries there (((hugs)))
remember... you are there for 90 days. you can always do more shakes later. what about stopping them altogether and just doing water and/or juice for a bit? sounds to me like your body could use a little break.
***hahahaha a fast from your fast***

03-16-2010, 06:07 PM
Yeah, I really feel like I just want to do water now, with a couple spoons of bentonite and psyllium. I'm gonna do that until I feel the need to do otherwise.
Gosh, I feel more peace already! :) That is definitely the right decision for me.
Hey, have you seen any "mucoid plaque" come out of juice? I mean, it's gotta come out eventually, right? ;)

Whew, I feel SO much better today! Like a huge weight has been lifted. No more gross-tasting drinks. No more feeling bloated. I AM convinced I have some kind of blockage in my small intestine, because the psyllium I drank yesterday has still not come out, even after drinking epsom. I'll do a colonic later.

Holla, Cathy!
dread head, welcome. We are in a similar situation (I'm 192 right now) so we can be fasting buddies. I'm amazed how my body feels better while fasting at ANY weight.
I am definitely gonna wait until I feel clear before I put in any more psyllium/bentonite. If I don't, it piles up, gives me bad gas, and stretches my gut to the point of hurting...exactly the feeling I want to AVOID while fasting. :D
I am smiling at you all. So so so blissful today. Even though my body is still weak from detoxing, I'm full to the brim with hope.

are you still the only person at the retreat who is fasting?
how's dread doing?
bikediva
03-19-2010, 12:39 AM
Nope, another girl is doing the full 4-shake programme (she only has 3 weeks here and wants to get out as much as possible), and a guy who arrived a couple of days after me is on water/shakes. The owner herself drinks mostly green juices with perhaps some soup or salad for dinner. There are only 2 guests and a volunteer right now, but three other guests just left, and they were all fasting on water/shakes. So I'm in good company.
I should add, it's so easy to fast here because it's so HOT! I have not felt hungry at all. Although, sometimes when I'm feeling down I will dream about a certain sentimental food.
I've done NOTHING but sleep, watch movies and read today, and it feels fantastic! Yay for lazy days! Also, there's a breeze to keep me cool. Ahhh.
Aleesha, how many days of fasting before you felt your body was totally "clean"? :)

It would almost be too good to be true, if I didn't go through bouts of feeling deathly sick while detoxing.
The future is looking SO bright. And I MUST once again thank this site for inspiring me to listen to my own body. :) Love to all.

A tapeworm...that's right, a TAPEWORM!!!...came out in my colonic today. It was covered in green mucusy gunk, but it was a tapeworm with a bunch of eggs attached. I started thinking of all the TERRIBLE food I've eaten in my lifetime, and how it makes TOTAL SENSE. Unfreakingreal, I tell you!
