Good day all!
I was just sitting here skimming through some of the posts and I must say that despite what anyone says or thinks about this (sometimes cooky) bunch here...I LOVE this group!
We have had our share of ups and downs but I can honestly say that the downs are far and few inbetween. I've been to and seen other groups that are nice and some that are downright not-so-nice. I feel "at home" here. I mean, where else could two people be at each other's throats practically one day and two days later make things right with one another?
Some call us "sappy sweet" and that's alright...I like sweet ;) I like the balance I feel here where there are some who are very mild and sweet and where some are spicy and sassy. But we all bring a sense of balance to this board and we're willing to support one another and I think that is why so many come here and just fall in love and can't stay away. Even when we take a hiatus from living the raw life, we always find our way back...HERE!
We have a groovy chick for a listowner who sometimes gets a bad rap from those who misunderstand her, but she's one of the coolest people I know with a very down-to-earth approach to eating raw..."JUST EAT RAW" she can often be found saying!
We have young and we have those who've been here a tad longer but are still just as young and playful as any teeny-bopper and some inbetween.
We have folks from other parts of the world, folks of different color, folks of various spiritual walks.
Some of us are 100% raw, some high raw, some who are just now learning what raw is.
Yeah, we have our moments and we have those on the outside looking in (and sometimes even partaking in our discussions) who choose to badmouth or bash us in other places (yeah...I see ya going to and fro!) but that's alright because again, our good outweighs our "bad".
Well, I just felt like writing something mushy about our little group here. It's going on a year that I've been here and I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon!
I plan to do all I can to keep our place the peaceful environment that it is.
We may not all agree on all points, but we can and most times DO respect one another and that's what's important.
Love yall (((HUGS)))

Rawkie,
What a beautiful message.
I certainly agree.
I feell like this is HOME.
And I have always felt that Alissa saved my life.
Once I found her book, it was mearly a matter of time before I became 100% raw again, and it's been an interesting ride, but I've been 100% raw now for almost a month, and I'm loving it.
We are a nice tribe of people, and I've made some pretty special friends here.
We RAWK!!!

awww Cherie, how sweet. I think this is a beautiful place full of beautiful people also and feel like its my second home. Your energy, Alissa's energy and message and the energy of all our members combine to make this forum very different, very informative, very uplifting, very intimate. In fact, I never go anywhere else because all I need for this journey can be found here with all of you. What a blessing.
Thank you for sharing your love and time with all of us.
And thank you every member for allowing it to be this way.
Big Hugs and much gratitude,
Carmel

Can I reply on behalf of the people on the other side of the world and say that we appreciate it too. Now if I could only get you all talking on my time zone it would be perfect but you guys have too many interesting chats after I go to bed.

Ditto! When I decided to study up on raw and give it a try, I checked out a couple other sites and found them to be full of what I like to call "Raw Snobs". You've all seen them... they act as though they are superior to SAD eaters or newbies and it just aggrivated me. Yes, I believe that rawbies are superior to SAD eaters in most aspects but there is such a thing as humitlity that those Raw Snobs don't have.
The kindness, support and love on this forum is unparalleled. Thank you, Alissa, for sharing this space with all of us!

Nearly everyone who hangs out here has been instrumental in making me feel welcome since I joined a few weeks ago. This is rare, when I instantly feel like one of the gang instead of waiting for sufficient 'break in' time, know what I mean? Every day I come here and I get very inspired. I read about someone's success or other good thing that happened, and it makes my day, I read about someone's struggles here, and I feel sympathy and they're instantly in my prayers and thoughts. Thank you everyone.

This has been the best of the raw boards I've visited. I don't even go anywhere else any more.

I so agree with you, I have been feeling very lucky to come across you guys, my mum is struggling away with being raw, and I am the only other person she knows who is raw, where as when I'm having a down day I come here and read things that reinvigorate me, the other day I had some really bad news, and I was thinking, OK I need junk food, as I used to do when I was stressed out before, but I came here, copied out some recipes and read the link about things people are thankful for and I felt so uplifted and good that I was able to be happy and upbeat when my mum called for some support, so it helped us both this is truly a unique site and you guys are the nicest bunch of people Ive come across on the net.

Cherie,
I haven't been around in a while, but I keep coming back for the reasons you state so clearly.
I want a place that feels like home and this is it...
Very well put....thanks!

I originally came here just to read a 'controversial' thread about a fellow raw journalist. Turned out it didn't seem so controversial to me personally. I was torn about posting, but really wanted to because everyone on here seemed so downright wonderful.
So from one sappy drippingly sweet poster to another...thanks for making this a great place to converse!
