Matthew's Cayenne Love Bites

My husband Matthew loves spicy chocolate, and he loves raw chocolate made with coconut oil. So, I created these spicy cayenne love bites just for him. I thought they were also quite fitting for my spicy and exotic husband :) I thought these were plenty spicy for me, but he found them a little mild with a nice warm aftertaste. Increase the cayenne pepper if you don't find them spicy enough :)

Ingredients (makes about 15 bite sized chocolates)
- 1/2 cup raw cacao powder, sifted
- 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
- 4 T dark agave nectar
- 1/8 t cayenne pepper + extra for dusting

Directions
- In a glass bowl, stir the agave nectar into the coconut oil until combined.
- Add the cayenne pepper and cacao powder, and stir well. If the chocolate starts to get stiff, simply put the bowl over another one with hot water in it. It is very unlikely that the chocolate will get hot, mine doesn't even get warm when I do that.
- Taste, and add more cayenne if desired. Remember that the heat from the cayenne takes a few seconds to make itself known :)
- If using chocolate molds, sprinkle some more cayenne at the bottom of the molds and then pour the liquid chocolate into them.
- Set in the freezer until solid, unmold Matthew's Cayenne Love Bites, and store in the fridge or freezer. Matthew loves chocolates made with coconut oil because they melt in the mouth more readily than chocolates made with cacao butter.

Oooh...I'll be trying this...an old chile head here. I love hot and spicy - the only one in my family of origin since I grew up in an area of the country where spice and seasonings weren't used much at all(understatement of the year). Everyone else complained even when there was a tad much black pepper on something let along chile of any sort - LOL! Chocolate and spice are awesome together...I'll bet that one could stick some raw pistachios into this and it would be cool. A chocolatier in Santa Fe had extra-dark chocolate with New Mexico red chile and pistachio nuts. A raw version would be amazing! You see what this has gotten me into thinking about - LOL!

I made these last night. They were wonderful! And they look so pretty and professional when you pop them out of the molds and they have that little sprinkling of cayenne pepper on top!

can anyone think of anything i can 'dilute' my chocolate with?

because its like, all heavy full of sugar stuff if i could balance it out with something abit healthier/lighter it would be great..........
