My dehydrator is an older one and does not have specific degree settings but goes by what tray and vent slot to open depending on what you are dehydrating. In the instruction manual it will say, for ex, for apples and bananas open vent slot 2 and 3. So any suggestions when Im trying to dehydrate at 105 degress what to do?

My dehydrator is new but does not have a temperature indicator so I keep a thermometer in it and use that as a guage. It does have a knob that adjusts the temperature.

NYNewbie, I have a Nesco. Its OK but I do feel a bit limited by it. Its working for me now but I'm looking into other models for the near future.

Thank you for answering me, I tried the dehydrator, it doesn't have any settings on it so its hard to detrermine what temp. it's cooking on.
I planning on returning it. I guess I'll stick to recipes that do not require any dehydrating.

NYNewbie, you can buy a simple, small thermometer, and place inside, you will see that it probably has some holes that you can open to let the temp go down, you can buy a Nesco, American harvester with a temp setting for about $40 at Walmart, I have never used one, but I hear they are fine.

I know Rawkinlocs has one, and loves it, you might PM her to see what model number hers is.
