Hi everyone! It is a glorious spring day here in Paris - blue sky, sunshine, and tweeting birds.

Made a great salad last night of watercress, frisée, mâche, grapefruit and avocado with a dressing of olive oil, lime juice, red onion, jalapeno, and cilantro. Deelish!

B: green apple, carrot, ginger, cucumber juice (1 litre) and a banana

Have a great day, and enjoy your health!

I don't have class until after lunchtime, but I did want to get an early start today.

I woke up, did some cardio and am drinking some green juice now. It's still a bit awkward in terms of taste for me, but it does taste better today due to more mango.

I lost some weight. Yay! I'm at 121.2 (I have a digital scale now). I definitely notice physical changes in the mirror too! My stomach is not as big, and my face is getting less and less puffy with each day.

I plan to eat some blueberries and salad later on. Eating raw is getting easier and more habitual nowadays.

Tguch: Oh my gosh! I'm so jealous of you!!!! In a good way. :) I visited Paris a couple of years ago, and I absolutely loved it! You really do live in the most beautiful city in the world.

Good morning everyone! I've got a monster green smoothie to sip on throughout the day - coconut water, spinach, grapefruit, mango and strawberries. I also have an orange and a chunk of pineapple to knaw on later, and some almonds I'm sure I'll be dipping into ;). I'm busy thinking of what foods to prepare for this weekend - I'm getting my wisdom teeth out this Friday, so I want to have lots of stuff on hand. I think I'm going to make some pate, and maybe some raw pesto and zucchini noodles. And, of course, there will be lots of green smoothies!

Hello, everyone. My husband and I are both taking the challenge this month, and so far, so good (other than me feeling like i'd die for something good and salty; we're going to find an appropriate recipe in Alissa's book and get the ingredients today, because i'm getting desperate).

The Date Nut Torte was fantastic! We were surprised that we couldn't finish it between the two of us, but it was so HEAVY!

I'm a nursing mother, so I'm wondering if there's anything extra I should be doing to make sure I'm getting enough to keep producing milk. Suggestions?

Anyway, here's to day two (and satisfying my craving for something salty).

Good morning=)

Today the tentative plan is--
-green smoothie w/mixed baby greens & avacado, cilantro, salt
-guacamole taquitos
-kale chips
-banana ice cream w/a drizzle of chocolate and pecans

Guess I'm feeling junk foody this morning=) Well, it's good for me! Nothing junky in it at all=)

I hope everyone has a good day. I know it is hard this early on. just remember that the pleasure derived from eating _____ only lasts a second, then you'll feel like crap--whereas with raw you'll feel great! Eat for the pleasure that comes after your meal, too=)

Hello Thick, glad to have you here!! I've found a lot of your posts on this forum to be very positive & helpful!! :)

The last few days I've had a hankerin for Mushies, & so yesterday I bought a few packs of Shitake's. Last night I marinated a few, in who knows what, cuz I just bought spices for the first time in my life!! Every time I've seen a recipe that I want to try I jot it down, & add the ingredients to my groceries. I don't go all out with those, they're just to help me out with idea's of what to purchase. :D It's Great!! Anyhow I am wondering if you'd like to share what your stuffed Mushies were?

Thanks & Take Care <3

Well, you should get the book. While I don't care for all of the recipes, some I love=) Just like my Mom's cooking.=)

Anyway, I improvised a bit by making a pesto--

Food processor a single clove of garlic (believe me!) in olive oil then add a head of parsley, a huge box of basil (say maybe 3-4 bunches), one clove of garlic, and olive oil--all in the food processor. Then I added walnuts and salt and pulsed until it was stuffingy. The only important measurement is the garlic...you can also add spinach instead of or in addtion to the parsley.

Then snap the stems off the mushrooms ( i made with both button and baby portobellos and there was no discernible difference) then toss them with olive oil and overfill them with the pesto, then into the dehydrator until they are the way you like them. They will feel dry on the outside, but very juicy, warm and delicious on the inside. I put mine in a 9x9 pyrex casserole dish.

Thanks for your kind words, they really meant a lot to me today. Sometimes I feel like everyone on this forum hates me=) (<---INFP)

Ah I feel that, whenever someone tells me to *get the book*, I am going to a store that may carry her book on Friday. That's why I've calmed down asking questions on this site. I feel I get a good whip by a few ppl. & yet every day I read new posts on here, all of the time where other's are eager & wanting to help other's out with all of their questions!! I'm hypersensitive.

I was told by someone to not ask questions, yet that is why there is a forum!! LOL

I doubt THEY ALL hate you!! lol :p Keep Posting & stay Strong!! You never know whom you're affecting!! :)

Thanks for sharing YOUR Dish!! ;)

Snack-donut hole( raw of course..it wasn't done in the dehydrator, but had to taste it anyhow..)

I am going to a store that may carry her book on Friday.

You should definitley call ahead to make sure. I've never seen it at a bookstore. Though you can order it online. The reason I suggest it, not just because she is the funder of the forum, but also because I like her
approach to raw eating and the easy explanations. I am so glad that she doesn't recommend eating high fruit/low nuts/ only before 5pm etc--all raw/anything goes is something I can do long term. =)

I've heard that there is a new book on the horizon, too.

I hope you like the stuffed mushrooms.=)

well, today was ALMOST raw. I can never bring myself to pass up free food. Just can't afford to! not right now anyway. But I'm happy to say I was almost completely raw and I feel really good.

2 bananas
1 avocado
grapes
2 roma tomatoes with olive oil and ACV

and..uh..freegan cheese. oh well.

It's not a bookstore. :)

Oh I understand that ppl are only suggesting the book to help out, to make things easier for myself. I just don't agree with how I FEEL it's being demanded upon, that how dare I ask any questions & want to know how other's go about doing a dish a particular way because it works for them & they like it, that I may not like it, so I should figure it out for myself. Of course everyone is different, of course I am not going to like what everyone else likes, but regardless of whether this forum is created by Alissa Cohen , it IS a Raw Community where ppl migrate to for support & questions about Raw.

Not saying that you Thick, had said any such thing to me. (*This is just how I am feeling*)

I am sure that when I read her book I will still have an array of questions, even if I look it up online. I just need a repeat, repeat, repeat Oh, & Experiment!! I am having a BLAST!!

My apologies for taking the thread off of topic everyone.

P.S. I've now found another Raw Forum, & will post my questions there instead, as not to bother any of the regular members here. That hear & see the same Bloody questions day in & out, & yes wouldn't it make things so much easier if they just bought that darn book!! LoL :p ;)

1st March:
Before breakfast: spirulina
Breakfast: green smoothie (1 banana, 1 apğle, bunch of spinach)
Snacks: 2 figs,
Lunch: Salad (carrots, celery, olive oil, lemon juice
Snacks: 6 extra small bananas, 1 apple, handfull of soaked hazelnuts
Dinner: salad (white and red gabbage, olive oil, lemon juice)
1st day I felt sooooo exhausted... :(

2nd day, I decided to take photos of what I eat or drink.
So,
Before breakfast: spirulina
Breakfast:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v365/womenriders/RAW%20FOOD/S4030058.jpg

Lunch: Salad (iceberg lettuce, kale, red pepper, avocado, salt)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v365/womenriders/RAW%20FOOD/S4030063.jpg

All day snacks:40-50 raisins, 2 dates, 15 gr walnuts, 1 medium apple, 1 orange,
Before dinner: spirulina
Dinner: salad (red and white cabbage, olive oil, salt) but I didn't enjoy that salad. First day I thought it doesn't feel good because I didn't chew enough. But, yesterday I feel the same way. So I don't think I will do that salad again.

Sorry, don't have a picture of dinner, because I totally forgot. :)

Also, I eat or drink nothing (except water) after dinner and go for a walk for 1 hour. This is my routine for almost a month

Well, so far so good! Do you have any comments on what I ate or do? Anything wrong or could be improved? Because I didn't loose any weight.

Yes Analee, Paris is beautiful! And while the cuisine is traditionally very heavy on animals, there are plenty of local fruits and vegetables to prepare raw vegan meals with. The only veggie I wish I could find is kale. There are a few great veggie restos too -- no raw resto yet... a business opportunity...

Thanks Thick for posting this, I think it is the absolute best statement. I apply it to alcohol as well. Once I became aware of (and felt!!) this after effect of what I ate (and drank), moving to a high raw diet became simple. My mind stopped debating whether it wanted that piece of pizza or not, because it began to associate eating it with a bloated, heavy, sort of sad feeling. Thanks!

On day two I had 1/2 blender smoothie of assorted fruit, spinach, water smoothie
8 oz. glass of juice made from 2 carrots 2 celery and one apple
1/2 handful of macadamia nuts
6 pieces of frozen banana bits (these were so good! reminded me of banana popsicles
1 mangoe
A young turnip cut into thin slices with a pinch of sea salt (these were really good too, I needed something that I could nibble on but didn't feel like eating more nuts
an apple
Not too much water, maybe 4 cups

and...an advilfor the wicked wicked headache I had from not drinking coffee.

The headache made me wish to look up what the frig! happens when we get a headache.

Day one's menu was:

1/2 pineapple
bowl of red grapes
100 gm bag of kale cheesy chips (felt a little ill after eating the whole bag and still feel a little ill now when remembering :))
5 handfuls, throughout the day of nuts, macadamia/cashews
Half a blender smoothie of banana, assorted fruits, spinach water
Lots of water (8 cups or more)

the assorted fruit I put into the blender is packaged frozen fruit (Europe's Best is the name) I checked to make sure nothing else was added, just flash frozen fruit.

Hey all,

I have been trying to be raw since last May, always cheated somehow, but now I LOVE to do a 30 day challenge. I'm much more committed this time!!!
I wasn't 100% raw on day 1 (March 1st), but I really want to be from 2nd.

I am posting every day in the previous day's thread (to make sure that I really was 100% raw, ... no late night binges!)

Good luck to all of us!!!
