Who would've thought that my weekend in Houston (meat capital of the world lol) would've been one of the greatest raw food experiences I've had thus far? I had done some research and found her prior to leaving for Texas and was so eager to get to her store front type "restaurant." In my excitement I overlooked her days of operation. She wasn't open on Saturday! *cries* I was soooo happy to learn that she sold many of her foods at the My Fit Food locations. My friend called Pat to ensure that MFF had the entrees that I wanted and let me tell y'all...THEY WERE DELICIOUS!!!! I was in HEAVEN! I ate her food all weekend. I couldn't get enough! The Pizza Bella - Oh.My.Goodness! The Veggie Lasagna - YUM! The chocolate pie, the pecan pie! I was thrilled! She makes me want to move to Houston! Even my meat eating, Texan of a friend enjoyed her food - especially the desserts. :p His favorite was the Pecan Pie.

I just had to share my excitement with you all!! If anyone is in the Houston area visiting, you simply MUST try her food. If you're going to be there over the weekend, just call her to ensure that whatever it is you want will be at MFF. There are several locations so make sure you find out which one she'll be taking your order to OR you could call MFF and they will make the order with her. She is so friendly and kind, she didn't mind at all that my friend called her directly. I was very sad that I didn't get the experience of meeting her, but I'll be back. I plan to make sure I go during the week next time so that I can meet her and frequent her "kitchen."

Oh and as an aside, she also sells some treats at the Central City Co-Op (that she founded) and the Houston Farmer's Market. I've searched the forum so I know that most people (in the Houston area) already know this, but for those "would be visitors" like me, I want to be sure you have every opportunity to taste her food. You won't be sorry! Has anyone else had Pat's food recently (or ever)? Just curious to know.

Okay, you've talked me into it. I've hesitated to go because it's not in the best part of town and I always have my kids with me..and if her food is so glorious I wish she'd take some new pictures for her website.

Thanks so much for the My Fit Foods tip--is it more or less expensive there than at her resaurant?

This surprised me because I have NOT heard good things about her food... The one thing I did have was her Cheesecake, which wasn't bad... Mine's better, though.... ;)

Oh! I didn't know that about her location. I never did go by there, after we found out she was closed on weekends. We went to the MFF on Memorial Drive (I think it was). It's in the shopping center with UPS, a smoothie shop and some more things I can't remember. The Rodeo parade "drove" right past it this weekend, so we stood out there and watched it go by...so cool. :D

As for the price comparison, I don't know. I didn't pay for it, so I'm not sure if it's the same or not...but I 'think' it was.

Really?? This surprises ME! Her Veggie Lasagna was very tasty, but the hands down winner was the Pizza Bella. I almost OD'ed on those! :p I can't speak for the cheesecake, but the pecan and chocolate pie were AWESOME!

wow... I used to live in the area several years ago. It was just beginning to become vegan freindly. It is good to hear how much it has progessed. Now it Moriarty, New Mexico would progress.....
