I had an IUD (the non hormonal one) inserted about 3 months ago, before that I never had any issues with cysts that I know of, I had the IUD removed after one month because I was constantly aware of its presence and didnt care for the heavier longer cycles. So I went back to charting my temps with my ladycomp and using a diaphragm. My period is 2 days late now, is this due to the cysts? Will they go away? My gyno recommended birth control to regulate things but I hate how they make me feel. Anyone have advice? THanks!:confused:

I got a cyst about a year ago (just grew there, not related to IUD). It was there for months. The ob/gyn montitored and told me if it was still there in another month, I'd have to have surgery to take it out. So, desperate, i went to my trusted acupuncturist to see if she could help. I did two sessions with her, then I went for a follow up ultrasound for the cyst with the ob/gyn. It was gone!!! She was stunned - never saw one that big just "disappear" before. So maybe find a skilled acupunturist who specializes in feminine issues. She might be able to help you rebalance things (mine also gave me some herbs to try for a few weeks).

Thank you for the info, I have tried acupuncture many times in the past, I definitely will try it again. Were you raw at the time this happened? I am still in transition, I am sure a cleaner diet will help too

Many cysts will go away on their own after a couple mos. I know a thing or two about hormones, and I would never give birth control pills to my worst enemy. They are riddled with synthetic "hormones" that circulate and recirculate in your system.
Many cysts are helped by progesterone. Research the sublingual kind - it's the newest. Make sure it is all natural - no dyes/flavors etc.
Begin it on ovulation day, and take for about 12 days. You may have to do this for sev'l mos.
I believe that even raw foodies can get a cyst now and then. A follicle that just doesn't quite behave the way it should. If you get many though, over the longterm, then this is more of a hormonal imbalance, that may be attributed to poor diet etc.

I was high raw but not 100% when I got the cyst (and when it went away).
