View Full Version : Why do strawberries have so much more quantity of pesticides than blueberries or blac

Strawberries are one of the dirty dozen. Many sites list alternatives to strawberries as blueberries or blackberries....Why would these have less pesticides, they have similar textures, esp. the blackberrries. Is it that some insects are more attracted to strawberries ? that's all I can think of

They are probably more prone to insects and disease. It is a pity.

Maybe also because they grow on the ground instead of on a more controllable vine or bush.

yeah i think its cuz they grow on the ground and i think they use a fungicide on the soil too or something.
