hey peeps! Gonna be grocery shopping soon and I want to make raw wraps! I was thinking I will use collards for the wraps.

What shall I use for the inside??? :D

You can make wraps in the dehydrator that are very like the unreal thing.

These are the wraps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fw-GVJ12yQ)I'm having for dinner tonight ~ I have everything cut up and ready to ROLL. I added 1/2 a sweet pepper and 1 thinly sliced scallion. I did go with the jicama, but I usually use cauliflower. *Ü*

I use avacado spread & tons of sprouts!
I've also used avacado spread/ tomatoes/ broccoli pieces/ cucumbers/ peppers/ & a drizzle of tahinin.
Raw hummus would be good on it too :)

What was that other package that he had with the round sheets in it called that he put in there, I couldn't catch what he said, or could I just use another Nori sheet?

Hi MindySue ~ That was my question posted under the video asking him if I could use whole laver instead of the dried laver sheets (the round ones) that he used.

I don't know enough about sea veggies to understand why he used separate round laver sheets as he explained laver is what nori sheets are made of, so??

I had whole laver on hand and mixed it with the tomatoes like he did and Ooooooh - I made my first wrap with it, but not the second and third. It was "too much sea" for me. It did make the wrap moist, but I didn't care for it at all.

So my LONG winded answer - laver, ha! And I don't know why you couldn't just use another nori sheet. But if you're not a huge sea veg fan, you might want to make just a little and see how you like it. *Ü*

With collards, I love Ani Phyos' dolmas - here's the video:

Me too!! Did you see that thing just slice right through the nori wrap? No knife does that... pricey little bugger though - but worth it I suppose! *Ü*

I know! The knives that I have will squash the thing. Maybe I will put one on my wish list for my b'day in August. :p

I always make it up on the spot!

but some staples: tomatoes (sundried is great flavor; chop into little pieces), grated carrot, avocado, thin slices of bell pepper, thin slices of cucumber...

I like making a raw pate and putting that inside. One that I love is a ginger pate recipe by Ani Phyo. It mostly consists of Ginger, carrot, garlic, celery, olive oil, and onion. It calls for raisins but i rarely put those in.

ps. I don't mean to say anything most of you might know, but I find that when you don't have the perfect knife, you at least need to make sure you wet your knife in some water before EVERY cut. things go fairly smoothly that way.
