View Full Version : B-12
There is probably already a thread about this somewhere but how do raw vegans get their B-12? I'm tracking what I eat and it shows me how much of each nutrient I'm taking in and my daily nutrient goals and when I looked up B-12 to find foods high in it, it said B-12 could ONLY be obtained from animal sources. Is this true? How can I, as a vegan, get my daily intake of B-12?
Right now I'm finishing up my lunch. Not 100% raw, but 100% vegan. I'd say 80% of it is raw though.

I supplement. I decided that it was not worth taking the risk.
There are foods that are supposed to have some.

Yeah, I supplement, too. I know that's not the raw thing to do, but like Sport, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. I take it sublingually, too, by the way. Supposed to be the best way to do it. :)

If your worried about your B-12 levels why not get tested to find out.
Why supplement if you don't have to?

I occasionally supplement with a 100% raw, vegan supplement. It's from GARDEN OF LIFE. I don't supplement out of fear (I don't do fear ;)) but I supplement because I had a B-vitamin deficiency before going Raw.
I am of the belief that after a few years Raw, I will no longer need any supplementation. :)
There are, yes, many threads on this topic. The Search option is great here because you can literally pull up threads from months ago!
