I think that as dairy goes it is probably the least harmful to you and it is supposed to have beneficial bacteria but I would imagine that as it is dairy it is acid forming.
I also do not understand how the beneficial bacteria survive pasturisation.

This particular site is vegan-oriented, so you won't get much of a response to questions about animal products. If you search around you can find other boards where you'll get more input about yogurt. Some raw foodists do eat it.

yeah, i do like the responses from here regardless, shame some posts are deleted... for me, it's all part of the learning curve, i saw managers special at 29p and had a wee party in my pants and grabbed the last 3 on display. I'm also concerned about Rowse's honey, the packet spouts about saving the honey bee but also says, blend of EC and non EC honeys, i doubt it's raw and my doubts have been quite efficient latley but im often wrong hehe

I believe they pasteurize the yogurt and then add the live cultures back in. So if you want the live cultures that are found in yogurt, just buy them separately.

Would love to eat it, just can't do dairy anymore, intolerant. Maybe make my own yogurt with coconut..

I'm willing to bet you have a beekeeper around you. Ask homeschoolers if you know any. :) I buy honey guilt-free from the local farmers. It's raw and they're wonderful about telling me which area it came from so I can buy from the bees nearest me. They also usually carry a selection of clover honey and so on. It's great. (Plus it's cheaper than the store!)
