Sounds like you are going in the right direction. Something I learned recently is that it isn't eating fruits that are typically a problem, it is when you consume fruits and lots of fatty foods. I think it had something to do with the fats slowing the digestion keeping the fruits in the system longer than they should which can be an issue for people who are trying to reduce candida. You didn't mention dairy but you definitely want to stay away from all dairy if you are trying to clear up acne. I would also increase water intake and add a pinch of a good quality sea salt per glass of water. See watercure.com or watercure2.org for more on that subject. The water and sea salt will help your body flush toxins out of your system along with doing a lot of other necessary functions.

I think that green juices are great for skin especially if they have lots of silica from things like cucumbers.

i eat a few cucmbers are day and thanks =)
speaking of cucumbers, does anyone know the difference between cucumber and a gherkin? My organic shop only sells gherkins so I just use them for juicing but was wondering is there a nutritional difference? thanks.

I agree with Unbent about the water. I've read that your body can't really cleanse itself if it's low, so produces more oil in the skin to do so.
I actually (respectfully!) ==er sort of, disagree on the fat thing. I think if you have acne, then one of the best things to do is to up your EFA's. You said you're doing CLO, and I also believe that could help. I think that since you've cut out some of the sugar (sweets), then it would be okay to up the good fats.
Also, when your body is short on zinc, it robs your skin, hair follicles (think baldness), and testicles if you're a male. I believe in taking ionic angstrom zinc. Not zinc picolinate or other pills. The ionic stuff is liquid. So, see if you can get a hold of some. This is not colloidial --it's angstrom size...which is WAY smaller particles than colloidial minerals.
Soaked and dehydrated pumpkin seeds also are high in zinc.

Hi crystalchild.
I've been suffering from acne for a while now; however, once I started the raw food challenge, my face is SO MUCH BETTER. I still have acne, but my face is not swollen or red anymore.
One of the key things I'm doing is better food combination. It's okay to eat fat and fruits. However, I do agree with unbent in that you SHOULD NOT EAT THEM TOGETHER.
1. vegetables and fat = happy
2. fruits and agave = happy
3. fruits and fat = NOT HAPPY
4. don't quite know about vegetables and fruits, but I'm thinking they're okay together.
Also, not food-related but... make sure your blood is circulating. You want to exercise and sweat out toxins too. Even before the raw food diet, I remember that I would get less pimples during the months that I did cardio (like a dance class or just plain running).

Crystalchild,
I (and many) believe the main reason diabetes runs in families is because they eat the same junk.
Even if it "runs in the family" it is only going to cause problems in like 7% of cases unless you eat the same junk.
My father had it, and my mother died of cancer when she was 37, but I just don't think I'll ever die from either!
I do not sell the angstrom minerals, but did at one time actually consider it. I pay approx $30 for 32 oz. See what you can find. If you can't compete, lmk and I'll put you in touch with the guy I get them from.
Don't forget to get minerals from wheatgrass --barley, kamut, oats etc.
You may also want to look up azomite for minerals too.
Oh and Analee, I like your little chart! Many feel that fruits and veggies, mostly greens though, are okay to combine IF in green smoothies. (re your #4)

one thing Alissa says is "it's not what you are eating that's raw... it's what you are eating that isn't raw"
i would recommend you eat lots of raw live foods... relax about your diet and eat. you are growing, your brain is still developing... you need nutrition!!! why not join the 30 day challenge and try just eating for a month... see if that makes a difference.
i honestly don't believe a 14 year old should be limiting her diet of anything raw... variety is the best nutritional and health advice you can adopt.
raw heals... it cleanses it does what needs doing... just ask some people like green woman for example... how much health she's achieved... ;)

i dont think not eating fruit will harm me. i have a fructose intolerance. all fruit has been hybrid to being 30 times sweeter then it is naturally. i met the daughter of someone who lived to be 105 years old and she was asian and she rarely ate eat fruit.

mary kay it may be that its because they eat the same junk .but my dad and cousins on his side has fructose intolerance like i do. i believe that of coarse diet causes diabeties but when people eat the wrong foods then it has harm different parts of their body based on their genes. for examples if someone has toxic body then it might take over their lungs and cause them asthma if they gentically get airways inflammed or trapped easier because maybe their ancestors are adapted to higher oxygen levels, or someone who has slow digestion might get colon cancer. i hope you know what i mean.

hey,
I have acne issues too, and aside from eating a raw diet (that's comprised of MOSTLY 60% fruit and 30% veggies...10% nuts, oils...) what matters also, is what you do to the outside of your body.
exercise.
do not over wash your skin.
exfoliate every once in a while.
I rarely wash my face.
mostly just use different oils on my skin.
I exfoliate at least once a month. Not very often in the winter because my skin is so dry as it is, exfoliating aggravates the issue.
food: steer clear from tomatoes, dairy, grains. those seem to bother my skin the most. (oh but i love tomatoes SO much)
what helps: apple cider vinegar REALLY helps. I put two tablespoons in a big container of water and drink it before meals. I interchange that with lemon water.
so... in my opinion, what you do to your skin matters as much as what you eat.
ps. I know you were asking for foods to help acne, so i apologize for offering potentially unwanted advice!

Going to be different for everyone of course, & you said you won't do the fruit. I have suffered from Acne for 16 years! & I found the Grapefruit eaten everyday for about two weeks REALLY worked wonders on my acne!! For the last two weeks again, I've been eating a whole whack of Grapefruits & Navel Oranges, & there is just something in there for me, that REALLY helps my skin glow, ever just the slightest.
Plus I stepped up my game, & joined the 30 Day Raw Challenge on here. I am now on Day 16, I've been eating quite a few Grapefruits & many more GREEN smoothies, & I am seeing some AMAZING healing going on! ;)
I hope you can find what's right for you!!
Take Care <3

Correct, even if you have bad genes, what you eat determines whether many of these genes get "switched on"

As long as you're 100% raw, you most certainly won't;).

I'm not a big fan of vitamin supplements, however unless your fruits and vegetables are organically grown you're most certainly mineral deficient and blood tests won't always reveal this. Mineral deficiency is actually much more serious than vitamin deficiency, so you may want to take a multi-mineral supplement.
