I have been having a lot of fun using Photobucket to post images directly into my blog and thread posts. The past few months I have been getting more and more messages about Photobucket not being a safe site. Lately, my firewall has been shutting off my internet connection when I am on Photobucket because of "malicious intent from this site".

On Monday I spent over 3 hours on the phone with my Microsoft security provider while a tech manually searched the files on my computer because it was infected beyond what the security program was able to find and fix. The tech found two viruses and got rid of them. I can't say for sure it was from Photobucket, but I haven't been having problems with any other sites and the tech assured me that Photobucket is a known source of worms and spyware which can slow down computer speed and cause other problems.

Adding pictures by managing attachments is a nice feature, but not the same as putting an image directly into the post.

Is there any other way to put photos directly into a post without using Photobucket?

There is a section for additional options below the reply box when you choose go advanced. From there, after clicking attach files/manage attachements you can browse your computer then choose and upload an image, from your desktop for example. It then works like this, where you will click on the thumbnail to see the full size image.

Thanks you. :) That is a great way to do it. I've already used that method so much that I've reached about 75% of the maximum capacity allowed.

I have a FLICKR account that I use for uploading pics to a knitting website, but FLICKR doesn't seem to work of RFT....?

If there isn't another site like Photobucket that works here, then I will continue to use the manage attachments feature and be more selective about what pics to post, or go back and delete out the old pics so I can attach new ones.

That is a beautiful pic of a sunflower. :)

Thank you. :) I'll try that option.

I'm almost at the maximum there, too. Someday soon I have to delete the old to make room for the new. (story of my life :))

I also use Photobucket for images and now that you mention it, the site is really slow and twitchy. It has been for some time. I hate to think of what I might have on my pc because of it. There is another media hosting site called Image Shack that I heard is free and pretty reliable, though I've yet to use it myself. It might be worth looking into. :)

one more option... if you have webspace... you could upload your images to an image file and link from there. kinda like i do with my magazine....
