Hi everyone! This is my fourth day eating only raw food (mainly just fruits). I know it's ideal to eat only organic foods, however this isn't always possible for me. Will eating non organic fruits (specifically bananas) negatively impact the diet? I'm trying to clear up my skin and I was wondering if this would stop it from doing so. Also, is it possible to eat too many bananas? Will this make me gain weight? I heard it's very difficult to gain weight on a fruitarian diet. Thank you!

I buy non-organics if they have a thick skin, like oranges, bananas, grapefruit, etc. It hasn't had a negative effect on me yet. I understand that all organic is ideal but I just can't afford that.

Thank you! Can I gain weight from eating too many bananas or too much flaxseed? Since I started eating raw I've been ravenous!

it would be easy with the flax seed, as it's so calorie dense. The thought of 10T entered my head ;) - not that you'd be doing that much. You're fine :)
Bananas... it would be tough. You'd have to stuff yourself and then not be physically active on a daily basis - which is somewhat tough with all the energy they give you.
side note about organic: ya, it's fine to have conventional for stuff with thicker peels or if cost is an issue, get all your food non-organic, but if you can eventually afford more - "vote" organic by buying it :) We support organics every time we buy 'em and it's an awesome thing to be able to vote so often.

That's neat! I don't think I've seen that tact yet around here, being able to vote for more organic food. Here's Giving Hope that someday Organics won't be so radical & cost less!! Unless of course on sale. :)

As the above poster mentioned unless for some reason you're a agoraphobic that never leaves their bed side, like moi, than you might gain weight. I try to limit myself & keep a balance of my foods. Moderation is still key for me!! :)

I actually have been pretty agoraphobic lately! Which is probably why I've gained weight since I've started. I was 97 pounds when I started and now I'm 101. Not a big deal. I just hope it levels out.

I noticed that you said your height is 5'2 in another thread. Depending on our bodies frame/mass/structure/muscle, ect you may have been at the right weight or it could be your bodies way of telling you, you needed the extra weight.
Also depending on just what you're eating, anything that is high in sodium can also contribute to *water weight gain*, but it will always come down. Don't forget to drink lots of water!! :)
