Hi -this is my fist time making buckwheat sprouts. I took about 1/2 lb. buckwheat groats, soaked overnight, and am now dehydrating on the very lowest setting in my toaster/convection oven. It barely seems to have any heat at all, and I noticed some of the buckwheat has sprouts growing out of them. Anyway - what do I do with them when they are all dried out? THey seem to be taking a while. Also how do I store them and how long can I store them for? Thanks!

I soak, sprout and dehydrate them. I store them in a glass jar in the cupboard. I use them as a granola ingredient.

As far as how long you can keep them - hmmm, I guess I never thought about it. Mine are very well dehydrated and I'm not concerned about them going bad or spoiling. *Ü*

Granola!
I dehydrate them with chopped nuts, raisins, a little agave and cinnamon stick/vanilla bean and eat with almond milk or just by the handful :D

Also you can use them as a base for bread or wrap/pizza crust or cookies.

How long do they keep in the fridge if you don't dehydrate? I'm just paranoid about poisoning myself by accident. If I had some that had gone bad, would I know it and not really poison myself?
