Hi Everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself to the group. I've spent the past few days preparing myself for beginning this incredible new lifestyle and purchasing all the things I'll need to start this weekend. I recently finished reading:

The Raw Food Detox Diet (Natalia Rose)
Raw Food Life Force Energy (Natalia Rose)

In looking for support, I found this forum and have just picked up Alissa Cohen's book (not sure to what degree it will differ from Natalia Rose's books - anyone read both authors?). I'm so excited to get started that i'm giddy. It makes absolutely perfect sense. My goals include normalizing my weight (15lbs weight loss), overall rejuvenation, feel that vibrant glow, and cellulite melting  I run energy through my body every day so I never get sick, but I have not had the best eating habits and put on weight, feel sluggish, and have developed a belly :( It's high time I cleaned my body out.

I'd love to know if anyone else is about to begin so we can work on the journey together! :D I'm going to take measurements and pictures tomorrow and again every 30 days.

This group seems absolutely awesome - so supportive and caring. It's really great to see people helping others on this journey to health.

Thanks again! :-)

Hi Guys!

I'd love to see how you are doing day by day :-) Today was my day one and I'm also incredibly excited. I went to do my grocery shopping early this morning at the local Vitamin Cottage grocers.

It's 3:35pm and I'm going strong. I juiced an incredible green lemonade for breakfast I joined a local yoga studio to add to my whole regimen and took my weight and measurements (ugh). I also took some before pictures (double ugh), lol.

AudraDawn and Alisonheck, how are you doing? What's your favorite/least favorite part of it so far? My favorite part of today was making an incredible avocado salsa after my green lemonade.

Are you both doing this to also lose weight? I'd like to drop a good 15lbs so that was one of the motivating factors.

So happy we are all starting at around the same time! :-)

heyy :) I am doing it mainly to lose weight! Also- to just be over all more healthy- but the weight thing is def. my #1 motivation! I have only really been eating fruit & spinach salads with raw dressing so I haven't gotten to try anything yet! BUT guac is my FAVORITE! So I am excited you enjoyed it!

I have both of those other books as well (they were actually the first raw books I got). I like different things about all of them. I think Natalia's approach would be better for those who like to ease into things gradually, whereas Alissa's book is more of a "dive right in" approach. As I tend to be more of the latter, and Alissa really gives you the tools you need to make diving in WORK, I prefer Alissa's book. I really only use Natalia's books for the recipes (the raw ones) and info on cleansing and stuff. But I believe there's value in all opinions, so I like to have sources from many different viewpoints :)

hey guys,

I've been kicking around the raw food diet for the last few months with a few slip ups once in a while, so i am fairly new.
I've started a juice fast, to detox my body, and after the juice fast it will be 100% raw.

my favorite raw dishes are:
-chocolate smoothies (which consist of cocoa powder, almonds, dates, vanilla, water)
-sundried tomato pasta dressing over zucchini "noodles"
-nori seaweed wraps with whatever i feel like putting in them
-sunflower power balls (sunflower seeds, dates, carob powder, tahini...) THEY ARE AMAZING
-and plain old pineapple. i can eat a whole pineapple in one sitting, but then my mouth is raw and i start to regret it.

anyway, i'd love to go on this little journey with you guys :)

Hi there! I started off very similar to you. I ordered Natalia's books after they were recommended to me when I began this journey. I, too, came online looking for a forum, a support group, and found Alissa (and now have and love her book as well) and these wonderful folks!

I think as the analytical type (I like to know what I'm doing before I dive in too deep), I really appreciate having read Natalia first. I did so throughout my Master Cleanse and then felt ready to move into Raw at the end of October. I thought I wanted to ease into it, but once I got started when head over heels! :D Natalia's book really helped me ease my daughter into Raw with her "Raw til dinner" type plan. I find both ladies to be of tremendous support to me and I'm glad that I have both author's books.

I'm a researcher, so I've scoured the internet (before having either book) for hours on end and had gathered quite a bit of information on my own. However, sometimes it is nice to have it all collected in one place.

Best wishes on your journey!!

I have LOTS of raw food books but I don't have the Rose books. Out of all my books I'd choose Alissa's if I could only have one. It's recipes and all the in's and out's about raw food in a nutshell. I still refer back to it often....ooh, and her DVD is soooo worth it. You'll be able to make any raw food recipe after watching her DVD plus she teaches you so much while preparing food. Welcome to the forum.

Hey!

Im always afraid to speak about things but i can see everyone here is very supportive! I would love to partner up with a group or a solo doesnt matter just to have some kind of support from someone would be enough since I dont have any support from anyone at home or outside home everyone thinks Im crazy for going RAW and say I should eat chicken and meats and other things.....but Im ready for a lifetime change(hence the name)..lol
Well,
Im brand new to this as well and I still havent looked thoroughly through the entire site but so far THIS IS what i have been searching for. Well first off im a 21yr old female about 3.5 weeks ago I was weighing at 190 Ive been working out alot and eating differently and I am now weighing in at 171!! but my face has been breaking out horribly and i still feel like I could be healthier! I AM ready to start this 30day challenge today not on the 1st i dont think i could wait! So far this morning I had a raw grape and carrot smoothie with 1cup of ice and a 1/2 cup water and a 2/3 cup fresh squeezed orange juice....is that a good combination? and a Green tea(natural) Im willing to give support and recieve! we can all do this !!

Cant wait to read more and post more! good luck to everyone and hope to hear from all of you!!:)

I am doing well i am on day 7, i had a slip up last night....but chose to ignore this and move on. I started this at 188 lbs, i want to shed weight but i also want energy, happiness and exceptional health! I have realized that i do not like anything with flax mixed into it that is dehydrated, but i love flax just as is! I am so proud of all of us, for wanting and trying to attain better health! High five everyone! Cheese i know, but i love cheese!:p
