My brain went into hurricane mode when a nutritionist revealed that all nutrition is lost in cooked food. Yowza! I didn’t even know how to think non-cooked. I searched desperately on the internet for recipes to give me ideas about how to prepare meals in this manner. I was looking in the vegetarian web sites as I thought that was non-cooked. but soon I found that my clueless state was worse than I thought. During that process the phrase RAW flashed next to a recipe and I read it, following one thread to another to another. I become lost in the web. As a result of that one moment in time I began educating myself about RAW. After a few months I began researching cookbooks and shazam! I found alissa’s. the day I got it, I literally read it cover to cover with no exceptions. It was exciting to find something that resonated to my very core. I’d been working toward RAW since December but still didn’t feel healthy yet. Then after reading alissa’s book where she talked about dabbling (my word, not hers) with cooked meat and cooked other suff, keeps the cravings alive and the binges coming. I decided to take the final plunge and go 100% for full and complete health (and DH is on the journey with me)☺ we have a 19 month old grandson (DG19mo) who loves all the raw options we eat at our home. His mom even coaxes him on some days and asks if he wants to go to grandmas to get a green smoothie☺ what a joy to be learning this while he’s young and be able to invest in his life this way. My favorite thing to do was create new recipes and cook in my kitchen so I now look forward to this new exciting opportunity of creativity. So much to learn and I want to know it all NOW:
