Does anyone have ideas for making a good raw V-8 juice in the blender, one that really tastes more like V-8? (Not using a juicer -- looking for a whole veg thick tomato juice.) Savoury, not sweet.) But not overly spicey.
Then again, I have a non-raw friend who is trying to eat more mustard greens for her thyroid, and she's COOKING them. She would drink a V-8 with raw mustard greens in them to spice it up.
But I'd first like just a basic recipe. Thanks!
I love making V-8 in the blender. I don't have a specific recipe but it is basically a few tomatoes, celery stalk, 1/2 red bell pepper, 1/2 cucumber, bit of sweet onion, bit of garlic, bit of jalapeno pepper, lemon juice. I strain it through a mesh paint strainer bag which lets pulp through, but not a ton. This ends up being nice and thick (thicker if you didn't strain at all), you could make it even richer/redder with a few soaked sun dried tomatoes. At the end I add a little cracked pepper, bit of sea salt and a dash of cayenne (I like it really spicy). It is wonderful.

Sounds delish! my hubby will love it...I make savory green smoothies and when I drink them at work I always tell people they are like v8 only green. Its amazing how their faces change from looks of horror to looks of acceptance.

I ad-libbed a V8 in the blender yesterday. It was okay but needs improvement. Maybe I put too much fibrous veg, maybe should have not put the beet.
My teen did not like it, unfortunately. He doesn't seem to like savoury drinks. At least he likes green smoothies.
