Hello! Long time lurker here. I know most of the smoothie lovers are fans of the VitaMix. I just don't have that kind of money right now.:( I did, however, find this:

"The MX1050XT Extreme Commercial Waring Blender has a 2 Year warranty, and plenty of power for just about any blending job. With a 3.5 HP Motor, this Commercial Waring Blender puts out 45,000 + RPM's of power. The Extreme series blender is very competetive with the major blender manufacturers on the market today, with one of the most powerful motors in its class. The price for this Waring blender is much less than some of its rivals on the market, although the Waring has a much better spec sheet. The only difference between this model and the MX1000XT is the face plate, the MX1000XT has toggle switches were as this model features a waterproof touch pad. The Waring MX-Series Blenders are also compatible with Vitamix Blending Jars.
Product Features

Heavy-duty 3.5 HP Motor 45,000+ RPMs
Great for soups, salsas, sauces, deserts, dressings and beverages
Easy to clean electric membrane keypad with simple On/Off, High, Low, Stop and Pulse controls
One piece dishwasher-safe removable jar pad
64 oz. Poly carbonate Container
Limited Three Year Motor Warranty and Two Year Parts & Labor Warranty

MADE IN USA!"

It's at everythingkitchens.com. I don't know how to post a link:o

Best of all, it's on sale right now for about $300.00 with free shipping.

What do you all think?
Thanks!

I dunno....for $300 you are close to a refurbed Vitamix, aren't you? I'm just one of those people, I guess...(the go vitamix or go home people) :):):)

Thank you for the quick reply.:) I called the VitaMix 800 number and asked about a refurbished VM and they told me it would be only $50 less than the regular VM, plus shipping. The Waring is about half the price of the VM I was looking to buy. My question was what did you think of the one I found... I guess I'll go home now:rolleyes:

Hi SissyM ~ I don't have an opinion on the Waring, but I subscribe to John Kohler on YouTube and here's a link (http://www.discountjuicers.com/fibermania.html) to his page where he talks about (what I believe is) the Waring blender you posted about. I saw down on the bottom left that he's got a link for a comparison. He also gives his opinion on this blender.

Question - have you looked at the BlendTec? I've got the new 96 ounce BPA free jar, which is great. They also offer a 3 pay payment plan if that would help. I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other, just wondering if you'd looked at it. *Ü*

NOT bashing it ok? ( i have a Healthmaster, and its not very "popular" around here either!) but, for making nuttbutter, icecreams etc you WANT the stirring stick thingy like the Vitamix and the Healthmaster have! the one you are talking about doenst seem to have that function. it DOES look like a beast! if you do get it for sure post a review!

Thank you! I haven't looked at the BlendTec or Helathmaster yet, but I will. There's so much info out there and on this forum it seems the VitaMix rules. I'm off to check out your link! THANK YOU ALL again! I'll come back and let you know which one when I decide.:D

I was going to suggest a BlendTec as well. I don't have a Waring blender, but I do have a waring juicer. It's "just O.K."

You're very welcome SissyM. I meant to include BlendTec's link (http://www.blendtec.com/).

It was down to a BT and a VM and for me and what I liked, I opted for the BT. Best wishes! *Ü*

I have a Waring Pro Juicerator (refurbished) that I bought at TJ Maxx for $50.00. I have to say I really like it for fruits and hard-ish veggies, not so good with the greens. I have to use my manual Z-star for those.

LOL Now I've got information overload! There's way too many good blenders to choose from... You know how it feels when you look at too many birthday cards for someone and then can't decide which one because they're all good in some way? That's how I feel now. Oh well, still one week til payday. I keep searching! Thanks for all the replies:D
